Disambiguation link notification for November 10
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited T.B. Jayachandra, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sira. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Edits of Indian Wikipedians
Hi Tinucherian,
Long time since we talked here. I noticed that you edited Wikipedia:WikiProject India/List of Indian Wikipedians by number of edits recently and I thought it should be easier done using a tool (at least 90% of the work). I used Excel to get the old list (before your edit in this month) and then took the 10 November 2014 master list of edit counts (1 to 10000 wiki ranks). I used simple Excel functions to get an updated list, which would cover 90% of the users, I hope (at least covers the 121 folks in old list easily).
Please see User:VasuVR/EditCountIndia and find out if it helps. I would like to send the actual Excel by email - in case you want to play with it more (let me know).
Hope this helps. VasuVR (talk, contribs) 12:50, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- you're the man, Vasu. please go ahead and update it. -- Tinu Cherian - 17:46, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, The reason I did not update is that I have taken the previous list as the 'base' for the new list. Other Indian Wikipedians who have "climbed" up from below 5000 edits to higher numbers would not be identified in this list. I wanted to make sure you also take a look at that angle - I don't know how you all do that (identify Indian Wikipedians among the 1-10,000 list). Let me know and I can see if I can figure out other ways of getting more info automatically (let me check the Category of Indian Wikipedians - may be that can help add a few more and improve this list). - Hi,
- Kindly recheck my same sub-page of user page User:VasuVR/EditCountIndia, where I have added "potential" 50 users - we may have to manually screen them before adding to main list.
- Also, how do we get details of user's rights/ notes, along with last active stuff easily - if there is a way, kindly let me know. I will also be searching. Manual work is tedious as well as boring - want to do it in more automated and if not, then semi-programmatic ways.
- Thanks. VasuVR (talk, contribs) 06:49, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi,
- Done. Wikipedia:WikiProject India/List of Indian Wikipedians by number of edits has been updated and also its sub-pages (Potential, Anonymous). I have updated the description, sections, too. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. VasuVR (talk, contribs) 15:05, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Great work, @VasuVR:. Request if this can be kept updated on once in two months/quarterly basis. AshLin (talk) 05:09, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, Vasu. Yeah, Like AshLin said, if you can keep this updated on a regular basis, it will be great !! :) -- Tinu Cherian - 05:39, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

- Sure. I was also thinking that I could do it once in a quarter. Any questions/ suggestions about who I choose for the list (see my updates to description on that page)? As of now, we have one person in list who is an opt-out (I mark that person's row as [Placeholder], just like in WP:EDITS).
- Any other inputs on source of people in second list - like Dr. Blofeld and gang. I have not updated that part.
