Rafael Nadal

[edit]

Exhibition matches are not included in the article unless they are truly significant. Also, per WP:NOTNEWS, Wikipedia is not a news site and does not need minor updates such as when press conference is going to be held. If there is significant outcome of that conference, that can be included in the article. LeaveSleaves 08:33, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nadal is the defeating Wimbledon champion and his decision on if he will be defeating his title at the most important event in the tennis world will come from a result of the 2 exhibition matches that he plays. How are this information not significant?

Once again, the outcome might be significant, not the matches. Those matches are neither part of ATP or any important event. Ergo, they should not be included. LeaveSleaves 08:52, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you should have a better read of the page that you are editing.

- Family and early life: "In May 2001, he defeated former Grand Slam champion Pat Cash in a clay-court exhibition match" - 2007: "Between the tournaments in Barcelona and Rome, Nadal defeated Federer in the "Battle of Surfaces" exhibition match in Majorca, Spain" - 2009: "Nadal started 2009 at the Capitala World Tennis Championship, an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi"

These are just 3. These matches are not part of the ATP or any important event. Ergo, they should not be included.

If you are going to change one, then you need to change them all.

Those matches clearly indicate why they were significant, except for the last one. I have removed it now. You should know that most major player play at least one exhibition match prior to major tournament. These are not included in the article. LeaveSleaves 09:03, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

None of them are significant in any way. This section is to provide the details of the players performance over the year. You are preventing this from happening. But thank you for confirming on behalf of Wikipedia that the fact that the defending Wimbledon Champion might not be able to defend is title is considered to be insignificant.

Please do not bother me again as I will ignore the messages.

Thanks.

The whole thing is based on speculation and there is not definitive word on it whatsoever. Like I said, this is not a news site. We do not report every little thing that happens around. LeaveSleaves 09:12, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Rafael Nadal. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. LeaveSleaves 09:05, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to APN News & Media, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Bidgee (talk) 00:25, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to APN News & Media. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Bidgee (talk) 00:56, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I work for APN in the Online department and they have requested that the information on our sites regarding particular assets (newspaper brands, radio etc) to be provided on a Wikipedia profile. Please do not revert back to the old version as it does not contain any information about the company and the previous version does not support the corporate image of APN. Thank you.

Your recent addition to APN News & Media has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Bidgee (talk) 00:57, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you just wait until I have finished editing and placing references about the company before you undo it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timmybassett (talkcontribs) 01:23, 29 September 2009

First of all this article needs to be stable (IE: cite sources) when new content is added, if you have to work on an article and it's going to take sometime then create a temporary page (Basically a sandbox). Secondly if you don't reliable cite sources then it can be revert and thirdly do not add/lift content from websites that are copyrighted as it will be reverted and if readded will result in the article being protected! Doing so will get you blocked (This is your second and last warning). Bidgee (talk) 05:52, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have been temporarily blocked from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. Request reason:

The information provided on this Wikipedia page is provided by the company that I work for. They would like this information to be listed under each of their brands on the Wikipedia page. The page that is up there at the moment is of a poor quality and lowers the corporate image of the APN brand. This issue needs to be addressed. Wikipedia is now allowing a flow of information regarding the company that does not reflect the views of the company. I expect the poor quiality version to not appear on your site. All information that I placed on your site is from our websites and was referenced as being provided from those sites. Thank you.

Decline reason:

I'm going to increase your block to an indefinite amount until you can demonstrate that you and your company understand our policy on not editing with a conflict of interest and our policy on always editing in a neutral tone. ↪REDVERS I dreamt about stew last night 09:10, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article APN News & Media, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Per your comment on my talkpage. Whether you work for APN News & Media or not you can't copy and paste (IE: Lift content), you must not add anything that reads link an advert nor can it have a POV to the company. Can you please confirm that Wikipedia is going to continue to activity performing actions that is lowering the company's image with this poor information that you have already provided.
