Re: Jay E. Adams and bibliography

[edit]

Timmillr, I must admit that I am no expert in all things Christian, but have found myself making improvements to the Jay E. Adams articles. Am learning some interesting things about his work. On the bibliography page, you asked the question as to how you can help. You already have, but clearly the Jay E. Adams article has potential for a lot more content. All the sources added in the last few days can be mined for themes about him and his work which can be added to the article. Be mindful of WP:BLP as others have been critical of his work. Those criticisms when discussed in the article, should be well sourced. The idea that Jay E. Adams is Marginally Notable is a non-starter and should be ignored. In WP, a topic is notable or it is not, and this article has sufficient secondary sources independent of the subject to demonstrate notability. Sources used in the article still need to meet WP:RS standards, but not all sources have to be independent of the subject when supporting routine facts. On the bibliography side, I believe it is in pretty good shape. As suggested on the talk page, you might want to look at WikiProject Bibliographies to see if any of its guidance can be applied. I think one contribution that would improve the list is to add some sourced annotations about his most prominent works. Other than that, any other sources that demonstrates that others have listed some number of Adams works as a group (i.e. in other bibliographies or reading lists) is always useful. The list meets WP:NOTESAL requirements already, but anything additional you find is a plus.

Thanks for your contributions and the desire to improve WP articles. --Mike Cline (talk) 15:29, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit to Jay E. Adams was copied directly from another source (and was POV, etc.). That can get you blocked. You should read the welcome links I will paste below and also consider WP:COI before continuing to edit as you have been. Novaseminary (talk) 17:01, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! Wow! Ok, thanks for looking out! I appreciate it! timmillr (talk) 17:07, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I thought it best to go ahead and clarify that I don't have any COI. I do not gain financially, politically, or through any other self promotional means. I do not know the individual personally, nor do I have any vested interests. I am simply an individual who has taken an interest in this subject and am attempting to establish a reputable and appropriate page. I hope to help do this by meeting necessary Wikipedia standards.timmillr (talk) 20:28, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
