I've noticed that you've expressed an interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Unfortunately, due to a history of conflict and disruptive editing it has been designated a contentious topic and is subject to some strict rules.

Hello. In a recent edit to the page Flag of Togo, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the first author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. While Togo is a French speaking country, its closest English speaking neighbors are Ghana & Nigeria. Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

I just read the link you sent. It says to use the talk page to make request. Exactly what I did. So please explain what I did wrong! If you can't I am adding back my request to have the Hezbellah page include what they did in Syria because its important context. That can be linked to the page on Wikipedia about it. Since you appear to be having some trouble reading what it says in the big green box above, I will quote the relevant part:

Your edit on the Hezbollah needs to comply with WP:EDITXY and if you choose not to use the template, then follow the form of it, you need to specify the request in the form change X to Y and provide appropriate sources, that's it, no speeches, justifications or explanations are necessary.

This is not an edit request, it doesn't say what it is you want changed or where it should go in the article. It cites no sources (Wikipedia is not a source). So, to invent a sample edit request:

Your latest request is also reverted, you cannot make an edit request asking that material sourced to 4 reliable sources is removed just because you don't agree with it and ask for material that has nothing to do with the article topic to be added. If you persist with this kind of editing, I will ask that you be blocked. I suggest you edit in less controversial areas that are not subject to editing restrictions until such time as you are more familiar with how Wikipedia works. I looked the guy up when he started removing everything I wrote in talk and kept being confrontational. I wanted to know what to do. It came up in Google :). I was looking for how to report him. He obviously has an agenda. The last post was about weaponizing antisemitism. The source was odd. So I posted on the talk about the original source (THE UK GOV) not saying what the article was claiming. He immediately removed my post. like way too fast. So I did a quick google search. and guess what popped up. You have a problem! And now hes blocked me from posting because he doesnt like what I am saying which was just on the talk chain. None of which was controversial. Hes obvious anti semetic and pro terrorist. He wouldn't even post the content on another page about Hezbellahs ties to Syria on the Hezbollah page. Thanks. To clarify, you were blocked by ScottishFinnishRadish, a Wikipedia administrator because you were not complying with the WP:ARBECR rules that apply to the WP:PIA topic area. Selfstudier was enforcing the rules, something they do frequently in the topic area because people are not very good at writing simple straightforward edit requests. It is unfortunate that ECR enforcement has to be carried out by humans rather than machines because people think about intent when they are dealing with people, whereas they generally don't when dealing with machines. The only way for editors such as yourself without the extended confirmed privilege to address perceived article content issues is to write a simple, straightforward edit request. Requests that follow the WP:EDITXY guideline are more likely to be accepted. If you re-read what Selfstudier wrote above with an open mind, you may see that they are trying to help you. They are a very experienced editor regardless of the degree of alignment between your views and theirs on real world matters. They provided an example edit request and told you something useful about the rules covering source removal. When someone offers you help here it is better to accept it because the PIA topic area is probably one of the most difficult topics to edit, hence all of the special rules. The article mentions hes posted 15K times in a year about just Palestine. Thats over 40 times a day. That doesnt include the articles on weaponizing antisemitism hes all over and who knows what else. Information about editor activity is public. You can see Selfstudier's editing statistics, or any other editor's statistics here. The statistics in the article you read cover the January 2022 and September 2024 period for edits within the PIA topic area, or rather an approximation of the PIA topic area used to generate statistical estimates. If you would like further background you can read through Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Clarification_and_Amendment#Amendment_request:_Palestine-Israel_articles_(AE_referral). Editors are, of course, free to choose which articles they work on, whether they want to help enforce ARBECR restrictions, whether they want to participate in content related discussions etc. If you would like to know how they have enough time to do that as a hobby you could simply have asked them, and they may have answered you.
