Hello,

Just to clarify Timequestmedia is my pseudonym for my work under textual and visual history. It is a personal, non-business account and I am the sole member. It's been my pseudonym since 2004.

Also an interesting note regarding Francis Disney. His treatise is to be found at South West Heritage Trust in Taunton. Having looked into his archives from the 1940's there is in fact a blue A4 page with 3 cut outs of newspaper articles relating to the asphyxiation of the soldiers. Mentioned in the articles that these gentlemen were British, dating from 1940 which was before the American occupation of the site. Somehow when it came to publishing the book the story was transformed to American soldiers, for reasons unknown as he did the research clearly stating British soldiers. Although not cited in his document I actually have full copies of the 3 newspapers which provide the story for evidencing purposes and a photo of his research document. I included details of the newspapers in the citation for anyone to review. It is in fact possible to view these newspaper copies via subscription to the British Newspaper Archives, of which I am a member.

In my edit I purposely wanted to avoid adding comment that this entry was a mistake published in the book. Basically I didn't want to openly discredit Francis Disney's work in this instance especially out of respect to him and his estate considering that he has also now passed on, but as a historian I feel it necessary to report the truth and always will endeavour to do so.

I hope this clears things up and it's been a pleasure doing these updates.

Thanks for your edits to HM Prison Shepton Mallet (although some details are different from those given in Disney's book), but I am slightly worried that your username may imply you are editing on behalf of a group or company.— Rod talk 08:53, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
