Welcome!

Hello, TicketMan/Archive 1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Northern Lights, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Highland Chieftain. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 11:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Carbon dioxide

It doesn't make sense to give me a warning for adding controversial material to an article, when in fact, I wasn't the one that added it and it wasn't controversial. I just reverted the unjustified removal of content. If the problem was that it wasn't sourced, since the event is very well know, the proper response should obviously be to source the material rather than simply delete it. 72.78.226.150 (talk) 12:57, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

RE: West Seneca East Senior High School‎

Looks like we got crossed on this article! Your edits removed some vandalism while bringing back a different instance. I then blindly reverted your edit, seeing only the diff. I went back and took care so all of the vandalism is gone now, both in Notable Alums and in the infobox. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Greenguy1090 (talkcontribs) 01:55, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Managed to confuse myself on this one - tried to restore a prev version, and picked the wrong one somehow! Got there in the end at least... TicketMan - Talk - contribs 02:03, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks and Happy New Year

Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year and thank you for all your help in the Milhist Tag & Assess 2007 drive.

Secondly, although the Tag & Assess 2007 drive is now officially closed, you are very welcome to continue tagging and assessing until 31 January 2008. Any articles you tag and assess during this time will be credited fully to your tagging tally for further award purposes.

Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be good to have your feedback/comments on the drive at the Tag & Assess workshop

Thanks again for your help, --ROGER DAVIES talk 10:34, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi

Thanks for the nice welcome. I created a page already, mostly because I was researching the place and noticed it wasn't listed in Wikipedia. List of West Midlands railway stations

I've filled in 26 for you. I would do more but i've got things to do (might do it a bit later). Thanks for offering the reward! Grover (talk) 02:50, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Just finished the rest of them for ya. Grover (talk) 21:41, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello TicketMan, I've added some comments at the FLC for this list, hope they help. Feel free to shout at me! The Rambling Man (talk) 18:49, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Hi - are you still working on this article? Well done for all the ref work you're doing - sorry I didn't make a start earlier, but I got waylaid by other things. I'm ready to do some tweaking, but don't want to cause any edit conflicts if you're still editing. – Tivedshambo (talk) 22:05, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

A thought about photos - how about having them at a smaller size as a single column to the left? See the table in Talyllyn Railway#Route for an example. Tivedshambo (talk) 14:57, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

You read my mind! I'm just reading up on putting a table within a table, which will (hopefully) have a similar effect, but negate the need for an image for every station. TicketMan - Talk - contribs 15:05, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Read enough help pages to give me a headache, luckily Orlady seems to have fixed the image placement problem - looks ok in my browser at work anyway. TicketMan - Talk - contribs 16:31, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Looks ok in my browser too, though smaller screens may struggle. Looks like my photo of Four Oaks is unrequired now, but at least it can be used in the article. Tivedshambo (talk) 16:41, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
It's up to you, but personally I wouldn't bother taking the trouble to change the usage figures to the nearest 100 - the nearest thousand is sufficient accuracy to indicate high or low level of usage, and trend. Tivedshambo (talk) 16:47, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Normally I'd agree, but there are several stations with very low usage, notably Bordesley, which I think need that extra degree of accuracy. In any case, it'll only take me 10 - 15 minutes to get through the lot. TicketMan - Talk - contribs 16:51, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

←Hello TicketMan, I added a note about wikilinking all operators etc since the table is sortable now... perhaps you missed it? It's in there somewhere. Otherwise I'll take another look and let you know what I think! Good work so far.. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:48, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

I've hidden the comments you've admirably dealt with and added a final set, hopefully the last bunch before I support. Nothing major but stuff which I just can't let slide if you know what I mean. Good work so far, all the best... The Rambling Man (talk) 19:34, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, all I'm suggesting is the link to the Government ought to be specific to the UK so go for it. Let me know when you're done and I'll revisit the FAC! The Rambling Man (talk) 19:50, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Well done on your hard work, I've offered a support, all the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 08:23, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

List of railway stations in Wales

Hi Ticketman. Can I suggest a peer review before taking List of railway stations in Wales to FLC? I reckon you've learned a great deal from the West Midlands article which you can bring to the Welsh one, and it's best practise to go to peer review first to pick off any remaining concerns. Then FLC should be a walkover! Let me know what you decide to do, either way I'd be delighted to review the article at any time for you. All the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 10:47, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Cool, well as soon as you're ready, give me a shout.... The Rambling Man (talk) 11:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

West Mids list

Promoted a short time ago to WP:FL, well done, great work! Give me a shout if you need some help in the future, even if it's just to read and support! The Rambling Man (talk) 20:27, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

A small favor

I was wondering if you could help me clean up the article on Charles Fernley Fawcett. There's a ton of info about him on the web (including his obituary ) and I need a bit of help cleaning up his wiki page and adding new info. I put this up on the Awards Center but have decided to contact you because of your previous help with my challenges. Besides this, you're a darn good editor and, as this article is about one of my heroes, I know that with you it would be in fine hands. Any help would be appreciated. --Sharkface217 20:57, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations on your recent WP:FL promotion. You may be interested in participating the the selection of lists of the day and a list of the month for March or nominating lists for April.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 18:22, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I signed up for your copyediting challenge at Wikipedia:AWC#Copy Editing. Since signing up, I have fixed over 200 spelling mistakes (not to mention some grammatical errors, spacing errors, punctuation errors, etc. on the side). GaryColemanFan (talk) 07:22, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Addbot (talk) 20:54, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

I noticed you are responsible for the Midlands in WP:WikiProject UK geography. Just to let you know, I saw that the article Midlands couldn't decide whether to be specifically about the English Midlands (for which a much better article exists) or Midlandses in general, so I turned it into a redirect to Midlands (disambiguation). I also removed the WikiProject template since it's no longer appropriate. Hairy Dude (talk) 16:53, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
