Not making any threats of legal action. No desire for that at all. But I was offended by the admin user calling me "evasive" which I never was in anyway whatsoever; something quite lacking in civility since he had no evidence for that. I just want to get my full name off of this account. I think Wikipedia itself recommends that full names not be used in the account. Per your suggestion I followed the dispute resolution link and recommendation for removing personal info, found a form and submitted it. I cleared the content that might could be misconstrued as a legal threat. Thomasicheek (talk) 16:38, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
dispute resolution seems to have not been accepted. Thomasicheek (talk) 20:31, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you're blocked, you can't edit other pages. That's probably why the form didn't work. Regardless, this isn't a content dispute, so that wouldn't be the appropriate venue. jlwoodwa (talk) 21:29, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for info. So what are my next steps to get unblocked? I need to be unblocked to get my full name off of this account. Thomasicheek (talk) 14:55, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Unblock request part 2: I have removed the offending page submission and I want to fully comply with all policies. I had no intention of spamming and will not in the future. What else needs to be done? This was a one time event. As you can see I have no history of contributions or any sort of "spamming"

Decline reason:

Request reason:

Please unblock. I need to get my fullname off this site by vanishing or changing username. I have no contributions and never want to participate again. My attempt to write an article was honest non-evasive and not an attempt at spam. But going forward I have no desire to contribute. Please Unblock so I can get my full name off this site. Thank you. Also, I am not a Wikipedia experienced user and I made 2 initial mistakes. 1) I used my full name as my username. This was an attempt to be transparent but I now realize it was a mistake and that I could be targeted for harassment per documentation found on this site. 2) I tried to write an article about my culturally significant Athens GA band from the 1980's. I was accused of being an evasive spammer by an admin user. Otherwise it was absolutely not the case nor the intention of the Article. This band has only done 1 gig since the 90s, which was at a charity event. I have no desire to re-attempt to create this article or any other article after this horrible experience. I have no published contributions. My main goal at this point is to just get my full name out of the username for this account. Please help! Thank You. If you can't help please tell me why and what further steps I can take.

Decline reason:

You do have contributions(a "contribution" is any edit to any type of page). Accounts are not unblocked to vanish. Vanishing is usually only available to accounts in good standing(i.e. not blocked). However, if you have immediate threats to your safety or otherwise think you will be the target of harassment, please see WP:VANISH for how you can request a courtesy vanishing. 331dot (talk) 10:11, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am writing to request the unblocking of my account, which was initially blocked due to being identified as a potential SPAM/Advertising account. I want to clarify that I have no intention of spamming or advertising. My actions were not intentional, and I fully understand the policy now.

I was attempting to write an article and was unaware of the guideline regarding not being a subject of the article. I acknowledge this mistake and assure you that I will not repeat it. I do not have a history of spamming or being blocked on Wikipedia, and I am committed to following all Wikipedia guidelines moving forward.

Thank you for considering my request..

Decline reason:

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate and confirm that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:

    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...),
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: ),
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: ),
      • and do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits have any citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking using unblock and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will hopefully improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. 0xDeadbeef→∞ (talk to me) 10:18, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
