Proposed deletion of Johnson's walrus

The article Johnson's walrus has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails verification-likely hoax. Neither of the claimed links is valid. Googling "odobenus johnsonus" and "Johnson's walrus" both find no hits whatsoever. Even if a genuine claimed species, it's likely a misidentification/fringe theory.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I've deleted this for now as an apparent hoax to make sure Wikipedia didn't spread it. None of the sources checked out and nothing could be found on Google. If it's real, then of course it can be undeleted. Do you have anything to say about it? SarahSV ^(talk) 21:24, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
