Prime Minisiters of Norway

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for you contributions regarding the prime ministers of Norway. I am a bit concerned, however, about the recent mass move of articles for the cabinets. Gro Harlem Brundtland's second term as Prime Minister of Norway is an extremely tedious article name. Though Second cabinet Brundtland may not necessarily be the ideal name, the rather blunt naming you propose is in my opinion not appropriate. Not only is it excessively long, but the article in question is about the cabinet, not the prime minister as such. There are also other people who may wish to have a say in the matter, since there are many who have contributed to these articles. For instance, you could take up the matter at WP:Norway. Thank you for your other constructive edits, and you understand in this matter. Arsenikk (talk) 18:32, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Oppland County Municipalty, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Oppland County Municipalty is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Oppland County Municipalty, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. That would have been me. Thank you for spotting the spelling mistake :) Arsenikk (talk) 22:29, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Norwegian politician stubs

[edit]

Hi. How come you've gone about removing the stub notices from Norwegian politician articles? They're still stubs, you know. Adding a template to them doesn't change that. Manxruler (talk) 22:34, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's OK. Just wanted to let you know to clear that up. Cheers. Manxruler (talk) 23:13, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate ref name

[edit]

This is a completely, fully, inappropriate use of words. I am of course talking about the ref name you chose to use. Please read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Manxruler (talk) 23:34, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To be exact as to which edit I'm referring to : this one. Manxruler (talk) 00:22, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For every category you create, you should specify parent categories to which it belongs. You do this by listing the parents near the bottom of the page, each enclosed in double brackets like so:

[[Category:WikiProject Norway]]
[[Category:Wikipedians by WikiProject]]

Contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 20:48, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries and previews

[edit]

Hi TFR. A little tip; when editing Wikipedia, please enter an edit summary. It helps other Wikipedians to understand exactly what your edit did. See Help:Edit summary. You might also find the preview function helpful in making edits more effective. Manxruler (talk) 23:24, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also note the little box underneath the edit summary section named "This is a minor edit". Not all edits are major, see: Help:Minor edit. And, please, use edit summaries. Manxruler (talk) 11:09, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A chance

[edit]

Please stop recreating the article about Lostprophets' next studio album. There is not enough information to warrant a seperate article at this point. If you stop now I will leave it, but otherwise I will nominate the article for deletion and there is no doubt that it will lose. U-Mos (talk) 13:30, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can't comment on articles I know nothing about, but I will link to WP:WAX. Basically, the article there had several blatant untruths, there is no title, no release date, and little to no officially released info. Basically, there is absolutely nothing that can't be put in the appropriate section of the Lostprophets page. U-Mos (talk) 13:42, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

But Chinese Democracy had a name. Again, WP:WAX. And the section doesn't need shortening, because there is no article on the album. Because there isn't enough info on the album. And again, a lot of that article was wrong ie. Parsons is not their new drummer, and even if he was he wouldn't have recorded for the album, LPS are no longer on Columbia in the USA, John Feldmann's sessions are not being used for the album, i could go on. I would also point out that the last person who redirected the article was GeneralAtrocity, not me. U-Mos (talk) 13:51, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The above is pretty much exactly what I'd have said. As for the upcoming albums category, most if not all of them have confirmed titles. And the length of an article is no reflection on its notability if the content isn't up to scratch. As I said before, at least wait until this album has a title before restoring the article. GeneralAtrocity (talk) 13:56, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest you read WP:NALBUMS, particularly the line "Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article." What we mostly have so far is a bunch of working track titles, and some vague mentions of a summer release date. Until that changes the album does NOT need a separate article. GeneralAtrocity (talk) 14:05, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Might be an idea to read the article you linked to on my talk page. IDK was not a promo single, because it was not promoting a single. There was no single. And I'm not aware of any of the facts I mentioned above being missing from the article. U-Mos (talk) 14:39, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thorbjørn Jagland GA review

[edit]

Hi This Feels Right, I'm Hunter. I've started a GA review for Thorbjørn Jagland [Talk:Thorbjørn Jagland/GA1|here], please take a look at my comments. As you'll see, I think the article has a lot of good content and has potential for the future, but I don't think it's quite ready for GA status yet. Especially once you get down to the Leader of the Labor Party section, there are quite a few grammatical and structural problems. What I would suggest is that we Fail the article, but only for now, and in the meantime you can seek a peer review rather than a GA nomination. This would allow you to focus more specifically on the grammar and structure issues. Then once those issues are resolved, it would be very easy to come back and nominate it for GA again.

Let me know what you think. If you really insist on trying the GA route, I'll work with you on it, but I really think this is the better approach. Let me know either way! --Hunter Kahn (talk) 08:20, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello This Feels Right! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 61 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
