Hey, I'm Z0. I noticed that you added content to an article but didn't provide a reliable source. You should cite a reliable source for all of your edits so that they can be verified. In Wikipedia, verifiability means that other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source. Adding unsourced content contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial.

Wikipedia does not publish original research, which refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist. Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it. The verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. Articles should be based on reliable and published sources (see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view) and if no reliable sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.

Hello - I understand. I believe Wikipedia is an effort toward free, open knowledge. Where might I publish material so that it can be referenced? I understand this may seem unusual or counter to ideals however I intend for this information to change the world. Please highlight with me the best process I can follow; after all, this is why I am using Wikipedia - to collaborate on distributing the information. Hello, Thewolfde. Wikipedia is not for original research. The information you add to Wikipedia should be cited with a reliable source. Wikipedia itself is not a reliable source so whatever publication that cites it should be avoided. Adding new information is fine but if that knowledge comes from just you, then it is considered original research which is not discouraged here. The information/content has to be supported by independent and reputable sources such as The New York Times, Forbes, etc. I would recommend you to read the following policies/guidelines: Five pillars, What Wikipedia Is Not, Neutral Point of View, Verifiability, No Original Research and Biographies of Living Persons. When writing an article: the subject should meet the notability criteria, there shouldn't be any unverifiable content, there must not be copyright violations and the article must be written neutrally without looking promotional. Also, the article should comply with the policies/guidelines listed above such as No Original Research or What Wikipedia Is Not. If you have any questions you may ask the Help desk and if you want to publish more articles, I encourage you to use the Articles for Creation process which helps new editors with article submissions. No judgement, safe space. Some people do suffer life. I was reading some material recently on the web (outside of Wiki) which i am now unable to find - I am experiencing a feeling similar to reserving a library book, and Knowing it may not exist, yet intrigued equally.

I also wonder if the word 'citation' typically feels always costly - like a speeding ticket / moving violation. Perhaps Hollywood axiom only - using the word citation to avoid footage of bystanders pointing at the road sign and avoiding negative-phrasing like infringement or violation to maintain a characters' intended clout. "He gave me a citation" is a phrase I have always misinterpreted, it seems. Consider this an ironic citation of itself. Thewolfde (talk) 22:44, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
