Notability of Districtfile

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Districtfile requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ecoleetage (talk) 19:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Districtfile

[edit]

Hi. I deleted this article under the A7 criteria for speedy deletion because the article made no assertion as to why the subject was notable; that is, why it deserves a page on Wikipedia. In order to meet your criteria for inclusion, an article must be notable, and this notability must be verified by multiple reliable sources. Articles that do not meet the above policies will be deleted. If you need any more help, let me know on my talk page. Cheers, Ale_Jrbtalk 21:50, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you are certain you can meet the above three policies (I suggest having quite a close read of them, to make sure you know what they're talking about), feel free to recreate the article, assert its notability, and back that up with reliable sources. Note that if it doesn't meet these policies, it will simply be deleted again, by someone else. Cheers, Ale_Jrbtalk 21:43, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you.
