Social populism article

Hello there, I "tagged" the article you added for deletion, because when you first posted it, it was basically a copy-paste of the other article, and there was no need for a separate one. I see you've changed it and developed it a bit already, which is great. The best thing you can do is make sure you are using reliable sources to add information, so that you're not just adding what you know. Although you may be very knowledgeable about the subject, everything on Wikipedia needs to be attributed to reliable sources, particularly secondary sources. Otherwise, what you add may be considered original research. I see you have received some advice above about adding references, which will help you with sources. I've add some more links might help here too. Regards, --BelovedFreak 12:08, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Belovedfreak, yep, the user has sought help and advice, and we're working on developing the article. Thanks,  Chzz  ►  17:28, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

June 2010

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you.  Chzz  ►  18:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

And, as discussed, please don't remove other peoples comments on talk pages (unless it's something really inappropriate, such as an obscene 'personal attack).
As long as everyone 'plays by the rules', it does kinda work. Main thing...if you're not sure about anything, ask for help. Remember that there is no deadline; most problems can be avoided by just talking, and when they can't, we can deal with that too.
Some stuff to read - and this isn't because you have 'done something wrong', it's just leading on from our discussions in IRC: Wikipedia:Etiquette, WP:BRD, and - definitely - Wikipedia:No angry mastodons and Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spider-Man!
Cheers,  Chzz  ►  19:07, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Help!!!

Please would somebody be able to sort my archiving out for every 2 days archiving and also place a yellow background on the whole of my user talk and a red background on the whole of my user page at user:thehelpinghand. Thanks.

--HelpingHandTalk 09:52, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Done, but please don't use {{adminhelpme}} for this sort of thing. It's not MySpace. Chzz  ►  11:50, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Would you be able to remove the yellow background then please. --HelpingHandTalk 12:38, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Social populism

Could you please point me to the discussion on merging the articles. I could not find it. TFD (talk) 15:36, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi User:The Four Deuces, I am not sure whether you are aware there is an IRC Channel for help and advice on their there was a four way conversation between myself, User:Chzz and a few other administrators to rule out a merge. Please contact Chzz at his talk page by clicking there. Thanks a lot.

IP blocked

See User talk:86.146.153.231. Per this edit I assume the IP is connected with you. My concerns about your simultaneous use of an IP and a registered account to edit controversial articles such as Social populism were already expressed to you in a previous post, which you deleted here. This usage appears to violate our policy on WP:Sock puppetry. If you are interested in rectifying the situation, please reply to this post and we'll have a conversation. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 19:13, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

I have reduced the block to anon-only as it was also preventing you from editing from your main account. To be clear: The IP remains blocked, and the validity of the original block is not questioned. --Deskana (talk) 19:28, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Peter_bone_bbc.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Peter_bone_bbc.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 15:37, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Philsignatureh.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 23:27, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Is that right? Every MP is "The Honourable"? In which case, will you join me in making that addition to every single current Member of Parliament not in the Privy Council? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.8.120.11 (talk) 14:44, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

No, it's wrong; MPs do not have their names prefix with "The Honourable". See The_Honourable#United_Kingdom. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:52, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Your messages to Jangid2k3

You obviously used a machine translator to post those comments in Hindi but they do not make any sense as of now. I had interacted with the user before and I am quite certain that he understands English. You might consider posting them again (perhaps in English). --Forty twoThanks for all the fish! 20:13, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Your recent activity at WP:UAA

First of all, please sign your posts as with any other open discussion. Secondly, users are normally expected to cite a specific section of the username policy that is being violated, saying that a user "disregarded" the username policy is not very helpful since the mere presence of the report implies that. If you use WP:TWINKLE it can help you properly format reports on various noticeboards. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:59, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Your CSD of UAA

It looks like you've accidentally tagged WP:UAA for deletion. Tag and notification. Please be more careful when tagging pages. If you have any questions or need help, feel free to message me on my talk page. Thanks. Netalarmtalk 16:39, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

UAA Reports

Hi there Helpinghand. I noticed that you are reporting usernames at UAA - I'm glad to see you join the team. May I suggest you read over the username policy a little more carefully before making reports? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ceranthor 17:11, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

I also notice you re-reported at least two users that I declined to block yesterday. Please don't do that. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:17, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

I really mean no offense, but honestly as a suggestion for your benefit, it might really help to just watch WP:UAA for a bit when you have some time and the inclination, and just see what kinds of reports go through and what are declined. This isn't meant even slightly as an insult or anything of the kind, but a spate of your recent reports, though clearly intended to be helpful, have really been questionable. A lot of frequent UAA users get declined now and then, which is fine, but it seems to be happening more often with you than it really needs to, and I'd rather you didn't waste your own time, y'know? - Vianello (Talk) 17:34, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello Thehelpinghand. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Sacred Heart Academy (Sta. Maria, Bulacan), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 clearly excludes schools. Thank you. SoWhy 18:51, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Maya Stojan

Hello Thehelpinghand. I am just letting you know that I deleted Maya Stojan, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 20:08, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

How references work

Simple references

These require two parts;

a)
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";
== References ==

{{reflist}}

(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)

To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Thehelpinghand/reftest and try it out.

Named references

Chzz was born in 1837, <ref name="MyBook">
"The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009.
</ref> in Footown.<ref name="MyBook"/>

Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.

Citation templates

You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;

Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation
 | last = Smith
 | first = John
 | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century
 | publication-date = 2001
 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]]
 | page = 125
 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4
}}
</ref>

Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.

For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs. Chzz  ►

Removed speedy deletion of Abner Dieujuste

FYI, I removed your speedy delete request from this article. There actually was content there, it just wasn't being displayed due to some template syntax errors. This is just to let you know. --Auntof6 (talk) 13:18, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Trouted

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

You have been trouted for: being idiotic with Twinkle.
