disambiguating Scottish
[edit]I'm working on all the Scottish links as they lead to a disambiguation page, hence the edit I made yesterday - I must admit that I think that 'Scottish English|scottish' is the best choice for an accent in the series but would you be happier with 'Scots language|Scottish' let me know what you think Argyll Lassie 12:44, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Thomas pages
[edit]Hello - I came across a few pages you had edited, namely The Policeman and The Pump Car. You blanked the contents of these article and indicated that they should be speedily deleted. Please note that the proper process to nominate an article for speedy deletion is outlined on WP:CSD. Please do not blank pages in the future, if your intention is to nominate them for deletion. Thanks! --cholmes75 (chit chat) 22:00, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Hey, I saw your talk addressed to 222.153.34.35 and thought you might like to know that whomever's behind that IP hit the Cars (film) page on July 1 as well.
Speedy of articles moved into Minor Characters (The Railway Series)
[edit]Greetings. As far as I can see, deleting articles that have been merged into other articles isn't grounds for speedy deletion. I converted the two pages to redirects instead. IceKarmaॐ 10:00, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Heeeeelllllp!

WP:THOMAS fair-use image crisis
[edit]Hi there, long time no hear...
You may be aware of the current push towards the effective elimination of non-free images within WP, especially from pages using multiple images. This has a potentially huge impact on the 'Thomas' pages, considering almost all the pictures are 'fair use'. So far, only List of Railway Series Books has been de-imaged (see its talk page for important initial discussions), but the bots are roaming about and delete-warning messages concerning screenshot images are already appearing on talk pages.
As I feel rather on my own at present, Project-wise, I have posted this here hoping for some moral(e) support (initially) and editing help (in the near future). I have posted a (probably too-) lengthy cry for help at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content#WikiProject Thomas and use of non-free images asking for guidance, since there are only three likely outcomes:
- Non-free images are not allowed on 'list' pages: Current pages remain as they are, but without images. (only tidying required)
- Non-free images ARE allowed on 'list' pages, but only in limited numbers: current character pages sub-divided into a greater number of smaller pages (lots of work, especially with redirects -- time for a bot!!)
- Non-free screenshots/book covers ARE allowed, but only one-per-page: character pages to be split up as per main characters (humungous amount of work)
It is a sad state of affairs, but I think that the first of these is the only really likely outcome, since to retain the existing set of images also requires the application of individual 'fair use rationales' to all of the images. There's too much work for even two people, and I'm feeling pretty dis-spirited now.
I am going to drop a copy of this message on the talk pages for all the Project founders, and also drop a note on the Project talk page, where we should probably continue the discussion.

AfD nomination of Thomas and Friends video releases
[edit]Thomas and Friends video releases, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Thomas and Friends video releases satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thomas and Friends video releases and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Thomas and Friends video releases during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. i said 00:16, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
TUGS & Thomas
[edit]Just wondering, what ever happened to the TUGS forum? I was a member there a long time ago, and i can't remember the link. Can't find it on Google either. I remember seeing your name a couple of times in posts (I went by murraytugs, or murray_tugs, had quite a few posts at one time).
I also registered for the Sodor Island Forums, but i'm still waiting on acceptance from Admins. Are you a part of that?
Good seeing you again :P --SteelersFan UK06 00:18, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Thehalford! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 295 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
