Wikipedia conflict of interest policy
[edit]I assume from your user name that you are Thomas Hegarty, the founder of Ready Flowers. If so, I would ask that you read the Wikipedia conflict of interest policy, and act accordingly. It is strongly recommended that those with a conflict of interest regarding an article do not edit it directly, but instead discuss any changes on the article talk page. I would ask that you do this. AndyTheGrump (talk) 04:12, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi AndyTheGrump, I am very aware of the Wikipedia conflict of interest policy and I have always been fair and balanced in any edits that I have ever made to wikipedia. Your assumption in regards to my identity I don't believe is relevant at this point (As I don't believe that I am required to declare my interests), however you are correct. It has come to my attention lately that a number of competitors have been trying to defame our company and distort the facts. I have addressed multiple contentions on the talk page of this article on numerous occasions and it has become somewhat tedious to have to restate the factual position over and over again to other editors (yourself not included) with limited knowledge of Wikipedia and proposing a neutral POV. I will endeavour to address any concerns on the talk page as I have numerous times in the past, and ensure that any edits that I do make are always balanced and not of undue weight.
- Thank you. I have one or two concerns relating to your latest edits, and would ask that before you add further material, you allow me a few minutes to explain them on the talk page, and then respond there. AndyTheGrump (talk) 04:28, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
How's it going?
[edit]Hi Thegarty! I hope you are doing okay - I know the COI things can be pretty intense, but, they are in place for a good reason (since Wikipedia isn't an advertising website). Regardless, feel free to drop by the Teahouse if you need help with anything, or learning more about policies here at Wikipedia. We want to make things easier for you, so I hope this hasn't deterred you from editing. See you later =) Sarah (talk) 03:01, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- p.s. one of the best tips I ever was given regarding Wikipedia was to not edit things I'm either involved in, or I know a lot about. While I was at first annoyed with that advice...it inspired me to edit articles about things I wanted to learn more about. For example, if you're interested in flowers and plants, instead of editing about the florist business, you could edit and learn about gardening and plants at WikiProject Horticulture and Gardening. They have a lot of articles that need to be created and improved on, and I know the folks there would love your help! :) Sarah (talk) 03:05, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Sarah, Thanks for the tip. Thegarty (talk) 08:47, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

You are suspected of sock puppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Thegarty. Thank you. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:52, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!
