For the benefit of UKPhoenix79
My article, Richard III (1955 film), has been up at FAC for quite some time, and consensus has been reached for about a week now or something (altough one new objector has come up... but consensus doesn't have to be unanimous, does it?). Anyway, unless it gets promoted soon regardless of this guys comments, he's requested that I pursue talented and experienced WPians, and ask them to give my article the once over, you know, fixing stylistic problems with the sentences, and all that. Thanks, ....(Complain)(Let us to it pell-mell) 05:13, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- For my benefit? -- UKPhoenix79 01:08, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Wow you really had to jump through many hoops to make Richard III (1955 film) a Featured article ... You stuck with it even though it may have appeared that people were fighting you. Some can be very nit picky about certain things. Yet, that only comes from the love of the subject at hand and it shows a lot that you managed to take those criticisms in stride and improved the article while keeping your calm... at least inside of Wikipedia. I know that we ALL think you did a great job!
- Here are some Shakespeare quotes that I though were apt
- "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't.". Hamlet (Act II, Scene II).
- "The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool". As You Like It (Act V, Scene I).
- "An honest tale speeds best, being plainly told". Richard III (Act IV, Scene IV).
- If you need any help just give me a holler, I'll try to be quicker in my replies, though I cannot guarantee it.
- Bask in the glory of your accomplishment, you deserve it! :) -- UKPhoenix79 09:24, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Fair use music sample
[edit]Hi, Would you please have a look at Image:04 Richard III.ogg. As per the guidelines at Wikipedia:Music samples the current aim is to have fair use sound samples limited to 10% of the total work or 30 seconds, (whichever is the lower). The sample for Richard III goes for 1 minute 15 seconds and therefore is not in line with Wikipedia's policies. It meets the criteria for deletion also because it lacks a fair use rationale. As it's being used in a featured article I don't want to undo your good work by acting too hastily, but could you please fix it when you get a chance so that it complies with the fair use guidelines. Thanks. Rossrs 08:35, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- Wow! That was quick. The length is fine now, and I'm not overly concerned about the fair use rationale - they're quite generic anyhow. Thanks! Rossrs 08:47, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Thunderball
[edit]If you haven't noticed, I split the Thunderball article between the novel and the film. Not really a simple task since I wanted to preserve its FA status. I think I made a good attempt, but I need a more 'independent view' of it from someone else. Also since it is up for FA review with emphasis on it being split, perhaps you can "reboot" that discussion to focus on where it needs to improve now that it has been split.
A note: Yes, I plan to split the remaining Ian Fleming novels from the films, but this isn't an easy task. Quick copy and pastes won't suffice, and unfortunately there are hundreds of links to the articles that all needs to be sorted (Thunderball took me over an hour). So this is a work in progress. For now, I intend to focus only on the novel/film split and therefore leave the novelisations and soundtrack sections of the article with the film article for the time being. That's a different discussion definitely a different day. K1Bond007 06:54, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

More compact, yes, but any more logical? I don't think so. I think if you really want to pursue this, you should perhaps make a proposal at the Village Pump. The point about consistency shouldn't be ignored: this will likely throw off many users expecting a certain format. Is it really worth it?--cj | talk 08:30, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Films
[edit]For the record, the films you cited (which I checked and read thoroughly, not just a brief scope through) reached FA awhile ago and it won't be long before someone puts them up for review. Also, you had no viable way of saying why your method would be better, just your personal preference. The two films I cited were both brought to FA by a Star Wars Wikiproject member who brought Jabba The Hutt to FA also, and they were brought to FA this year, not in 2005 0r 2004. LuciferMorgan 10:48, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Those were voted for FAs recently? That's just plain pathetic. What a joke, and no I have no intentions of standing down by the way, and you're quite stupid to think I will frankly. If Wikipedia wishes to hand out FAs like Smarties, then so be it. In that light, FA means nothing, it's just a tag with no real weight or credence to it. Those articles don't even reach all the necessary criteria as outlined by "What is a featured article?". LuciferMorgan 00:25, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Applying the WP:CORP criteria for products and services
[edit]UKPhoenix79 has cited several independently sourced product reviews in magazines, to demonstrate that the products satisfy the WP:CORP criteria for products and services. Please revisit the discussion with an eye to determining whether the WP:CORP criteria are satisfied by these published works (and any others that can be found), and thus whether fixing the article is a matter of cleaning it up using sources other than just the advertising and press releases put out by Bose itself, rather than deleting it. Also, before you ask (everyone has) I can't find what ratings the episode got on it's premiere so I wouldn't count that as missing information, I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHERE!! :) Thanks. [edit]Hi, are you still planning on tagging the Star Wars articles? I notice that you haven't responded yet to this - the Blackadder listing seems to work just fine. I saw it because the magazine had a Steve Irwin article in it (I am currently gathering info on Steve to work on his article after the exams). Goiter McWilliostein, P. I. You can't control me! Empire as a featured article?
[edit]A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away you asked me to let you know when I would be working on Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back for FA status, that time has (pretty much) come. Pilot (House) will probably be FA soon enough. And I will have to take time off for the FAC with A New Hope (after it gets it's copyedits). But I'm going to start work on it now and you'll be seeing a lot of edits from me on there. :) The Filmaker 00:45, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Pick up your VCD stuff.
[edit]Seriously, though, that is the time and day in which you can come and collect your VCD artwork. Can you also please bring with you:
- Digital copies of your VCD work (I like the Richard III teaser poster - the black one - and want to have it printed professionally in full-size), and
- Helvetica Bros.: Stamp Of One Defect.
Lunch will consist of food; namely, Pizza (how creative of me). Will you eat the following foodstuffs atop a Pizza?:
Trust me; from where we're going the above Pizza is second only to those made in Italy. It's heaps better than what one can find in Lygon Street.
Also, please give me the URL to the double-oh wiki.
Thanks.

SCREENCAPS
[edit]Hi, not sure if you remember me or not. I asked a really long time ago if you could get me some screencaps from godfathr part II. You were busy with finals or something at the time, but I understand. I'm asking now if you could get me some other screens...
You know the part in Godfather Part I where Don Vito Corleone holds his meeting of all the families of NY? could you get me pics of all the bosses that are there? For example, caps of Don Barzini, Don Tattaglia, Don Zaluchi ( he was the one who was outspoken and claimed to let the colored have drugs because they have no sould ). If you could do this I would greatly appreciate it. Not only do I collect online pics, but I use them for a Roleplaying thing I am in on the popular networking site 'myspace'. I would gladly do anything I can in return —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.88.0.71 (talk) 00:30, 8 February 2007 (UTC).

BAFTA and French films
[edit]Hi, and sorry to waste a bit of your time. I've just compiled the List of French films much on the lines of the BAFTA list. I didn't even reach 90KB's yet, but it will get there soon. Aren't they a bit too long to be on one page? The List of Australian films (well, with lots of reds there) has been split (and with lots of tables in each) and we're even having a lot of head scratching about the index (dab?) page. We're just starting the new List and navigation management and somehow we'll have to find a way to make them all look the same. I would appreciate any feedback from you. Sub-stubs on three movies
[edit]I would dearly love to expand the three Irvin Kershner movies about which you've commenced articles with one sentence and an infobox (Stakeout on Dope Street,The Young Captives and Face in the Rain) but unfortunately I have never seen any of them. Is there any chance they can be expanded? As things stand now, given their lack of recognizable actors and the fact these articles are empty, I am not sure there is sufficient evidence of their notability. --Silverscreen 22:26, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Boston Pops - Gone With the Wind - Tara Theme.ogg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Boston Pops - Gone With the Wind - Tara Theme.ogg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:23, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:04_Richard_III.ogg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:04_Richard_III.ogg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 09:01, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 00:11, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:2sisdvd.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:2sisdvd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 10:44, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Bald: The Making of 'THX 1138', by 65.9.166.73 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Bald: The Making of 'THX 1138' fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Bald: The Making of 'THX 1138', please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Bald: The Making of 'THX 1138' itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 08:06, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Frankwelker_aladdin.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Frankwelker_aladdin.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:36, 3 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:36, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
