Re: melting pot
[edit]To which article are you referring? Powers T 13:32, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- I assume you mean the Wikitravel article on the United States? I've never edited the Wikipedia article. As long as we're here on Wikipedia (for some reason), we have a pretty good article on the term that describes it and explains how it applies to the United States. On Wikitravel, we try to avoid making the articles too dry; especially with the term in quotation marks, I think it provides some flavor and I don't think it's too vague at all. There is some inherent vagueness in the term, yes, but no ambiguity in the consensus that it applies to the United States. Powers T 02:25, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Angelina Jolie has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. tj9991 (talk) 04:07, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I left a note at Talk:Christine Todd Whitman questioning why you removed the paragraph about Kate Whitman from the article. Please respond there if you'd like. Neutron (talk) 21:49, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

BLP and NPOV
[edit]I noticed your edits on Jim McGreevey and they suffer from BLP and NPOV problems. Another long-standing user raised the same problems with your edits on Madonna (entertainer). BLPs are not places on Wikipedia where there is much room for error. These people have lives, careers, friends and family. We use the utmost care when we edit them on Wikipedia. Please do the same. Thank you. --David Shankbone 22:19, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Madonna
[edit][Read this], nothing is disputed so it is fine. — Realist2 (Speak) 20:13, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you're referring to, Realist, but on the McGreevey article what is disputed is the inclusion of scandals that McGreevey was shown to have nothing to do with. Citations or not, including them for "historical context" in the lead is an OR, NPOV and BLP issue (not to mention sensational headers like "Growing scandal"). I don't know if that is what you were referring to or not. --David Shankbone 21:15, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oops, sorry. Good to see you back Shankbone, I hope everything is ok. — Realist2 (Speak) 21:19, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- FYI, "Realist" has since come to realize that his undo was wrong, and made the change I suggested.Thefactis (talk) 14:33, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, your "bore a child out of wedlock" language was not kept, and that's what I spotted as a problem. --David Shankbone 17:33, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean that Maddonna was married when she gave birth to Lourdes? I thought she was divorced from Sean Penn at that time, and that Lourdes' father was Carlos Leon, no? Please do correct me if any of this is wrong.Thefactis (talk) 02:46, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Jon Corzine
[edit]By your recent involvement in Jon Corzine I thought you might want to help me in a WP:GA push for this article. The are many sorts of cleanup issues that might improve the article. Among the many are cleaning up the citations. You may note that recently I have added several WP:RS to the article using the {{cite web}} template. It would be helpful if more of the citations used a uniform citation method and would appreciate any help you may lend in such an effort. Many claims in the article could also use some sources. Your help is welcome.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 08:06, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
