A tag has been placed on The Blues Jean Bar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Vrenator (talk) 14:00, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at The Blues Jean Bar

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, thank you for taking the time to create a page here. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the deletion tag you removed from The Blues Jean Bar. Please do not continue to remove the deletion tag, instead, if you disagree with the deletion, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the page by clicking this link. Once there, select the button that says Click here to contest this speedy deletion.
  2. This will take you to the talk page, where you can make your case by explaining why the page does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. For further help about the deletion, you could contact the user who first placed the tag or a highly active user who is willingly to help with deletion. This message was left by a bot, so please do not contact the bot about the deletion. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 14:06, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:13, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

[edit]

Okay, I'm a real actual person leaving you a message. I'm also the one who deleted the article you submitted.

Let me explain some stuff. First, what you submitted was... "This page is not unambiguously promotional", you say? I'm sorry, but it very much was. You were promoting a business and talking specifically about how wonderful it was.

Also, keep in mind the concept of conflict of interest. It's obvious that at the very least, you have a financial interest in that business - maybe you're an employee, or a marketer, or an investor, or maybe you're emotionally involved with someone who is. Look at the username you chose. I realize you were trying to be open about who you are -- and that's good -- but you're going about it the wrong way. I'm going to continue this message in a few minutes; this is just so you know that I'm actually here and paying attention. DS (talk) 14:14, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, while I was leaving you that message, another admin blocked this account. I was going to explain why your username would probably get you blocked: mainly because it implies that the account is being shared by employees of the Blue Jeans Bar as a whole. If ten people are sharing an account, and one of them is misbehaving, do we punish nine innocents or let one non-innocent continue to cause trouble? That's why shared accounts - or usernames that imply shared accounts - get blocked. You're perfectly welcome to start a new account that more clearly indicates you're a single person. You should also make your potential conflict of interest clear, by saying on your userpage "I (work for/am an investor in/whatever) the BJB in (city)." DS (talk) 14:25, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
