Contested deletion: This page is simply a record of the existence of a documentary film

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because this page details the facts of the release of the recent documentary film The Seer and the Unseen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:643:8301:CC80:2191:288C:4143:6B9 (talk) 21:14, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please log in to your account to comment. Yes, the page was certainly unambiguously promotional. Even the last version, that you say you "edited to comply with Wikipedia neutrality standards" was full of promotional language, such as "spectacular landscape", "surprising power of belief", "one of the country’s most respected seers", etc. Also, it wasn't actually deleted for being promotional, though the notifications were placed for that reason. If you check the deletion log entry which appears if you click on the (now red) link to your userpage, you will see that it was deleted for misuse of Wikipedia as a web host. In other words, userpages are not intended for materials (let alone, for promotion) of stuff that is unrelated to Wikipedia. Please see WP:USER for the purpose of userpages.
