Smears in media (against people questioning government claims)

I remember someone tracking in mainstream media the use of some smearing language that seemed oddly unprofessional, biased and pejorative. For research purposes, if you have links on that, maybe you can pass them on to me. --Ihaveabutt (talk) 03:35, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

I read an article related to that topic this morning. The link is here. It's not specifically about tracking the use of smearing language in the mainstream media, but it covers many of the tactics which are used to cover up crimes and suppress the exposure of truth. While you read it, you'll probably be nodding in agreement as you've undoubtedly seen many of these tactics in action here at Wikipedia. It's the most comprehensive essay on the subject that I've seen. I don't have any other articles on the use of smearing language by the media handy at this time.
