Hi; at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Go_(board_game)&action=history you wrote "replaced hilljack slang with proper English", apparently under the belief that "nowadays" is some kind of slang and not proper English. In fact the word "nowadays" has been part of English since at least the 1300s. E.g. see http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nowadays Goulo (talk) 08:00, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
That is interesting, but there are plenty of slang words that have been in use just as long. Antiquity does not preclude a word from being considered slang.
