[edit]I'll make a seperate page /RDH so you'll have some workspace and it won't fill up your talk page. Peace. Matt 18:11, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- ok, I've put all his uploads there, removed any that were redlinks, some seem to have been deleted but the page is still there, I don't know why. A few of his images I have no real issue with and I've marked them "np" on the list. You can just remove them from the list if you'd like. Some of his images (including clear copyvios) have been moved to the commons, so I guess they'll have to be deleted there. Some he's given a website source (who are almost certainly not the copyright holders), in some he's said "with permission" then tagged it as free. Given his history of dishonesty, I wouldn't take his word for it that permission was gotten, and it's not clear if it's a wp only permission. On one there's a pretty detailed source, and it's free if it's true, but again I simply don't believe him. Matt 18:32, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, are you aware that according to Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#Public_domain_art the {pd-art} tag is used only when the artist has been dead for more than 100 years? And not when an artist has been dead for 14? Matt 01:55, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- And I'm not too sure about USMA. Their main page has a copyright notice and their policy page only permits non-commercial use. Matt 02:09, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Errr last I checked, Wikipedia was NON-COMMERCIAL. Also, we have discussed this matter over on WP Mil History Project (Which is not the same BTW without our Minister of War:). And it was determined that we had the "Point's" permission, if not their actual blessing. Incidently, Matty, I'm being reasonable now, and accepting of of my mistakes as well as yours...why do you insist on wasting our time by continuing to be a Phallus towards me. So please, either be reasonable, file an Rfc or leave me the hell alone.--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 02:44, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Matt,
- Yeah I was aware of that, I seem to remember having a good reason to do that, but must admit my working day of 16 straight hours may have jumbled me a bit (my taggin of something as {{US-PDGov}} is a testament to that!). Besides, the copyright tags overlap in a great deal of aspects anyway. The image is {{art}}, but it's also {{Non-free fair use in}} several articles. Considering the four counts on which to judge fair use, I'd say its fair use for showing the uniforms as well, as its only a small part of his work and he is iconic on the topic.
- As for the USMA, it is tightly tied to the Congress and President for secondment an financial issues. I also havent found the definitive link, but it seems very likely to me that they are either directly part of the USMil, or otherwise a seperate institution under the DoD. It'd be stupid to delete something which is most likely PD, just because we cant find the actual evidence it is PD. In this respect, I really think somebody else will eventually discover the link. Either way its noncommercial too, so youre free to tag it with that if you prefer.
- We'll deal with other stuff as it comes along! Back to RL work for me! Cheers, The Minister of War (Peace) 11:53, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
