Hi, You deleted whole filmography and Television section of Qavi Khan?, please check his imbd or on other sites and if he has only one television work then this page should be deleted yes? But its not deleted because he is notable and has many works which you deleted claiming unsourced. Coutygirl (talk) 20:32, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, please have a read of Wikipedia:Citing IMDb. We need WP:Secondary, WP:Reliable sources, especially for a WP:BLP. Most of the claims I removed from that article were also added by a persistent sockpuppeteer. The Mighty Glen (talk) 20:37, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
- But secondary sources are sometimes unavailable of many aged actors liked him, you mean to say we have to add source after every work which is impossible. Please check your edits or if you are removing then verify from somewhere
- I am just shocked his whole filmography is removed by you. Please revert back your edit or do some favour to investigate about him and added yourself his whole workCoutygirl (talk) 20:40, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
- The IMDB link is still there, and that can be used as a starting point for editors to find reliable sources and fill out his filmography. The Mighty Glen (talk) 20:46, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Why you remove one television drama, added by me on Qavi Khan? And if you are doing such things then please remove from every blp on wiki? Its not something to be appreciated and i dont understand why you are doing this Coutygirl (talk) 04:30, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Oh my God, your given reason is that you cant find WP:RS but if the issue is that so wiki have so many other pages why you only remove his career, huh Coutygirl (talk) 04:37, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Quite correct
[edit]—G5 cannot apply because it's still at SPI. But unfortunately, there is also a requirement that such articles "have no substantial edits by others
," which is very much not the case here. As for G4—even if "substantially identical
" to the original that was deleted through AfD—the changes subsequently made (adding multiple references) do "address the reasons for which the material was deleted
" ("based on only one references, that is also not reliable source
") in the first place. Frankly, the thing has been speedied, declined, PRODed, declined, so many times in the last week that the only sure way anyone's getting rid of it is another AfD...just a fyi/suggestion. Take care, —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap shit room 13:19, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Demographic
[edit]I could see no evidence of draft:evolutionary approaches to the demographic transition being reviewed by anybody so I have moved it back to draft space. In any case admins are not necessarily the best people to do draft reviewing. A barnstar for you!
[edit]The Barnstar of Diligence | |
What? You have not yet received an overall barnstar for all your AfD and article improvement work?
This barnstar has been proudly manufactured of solid gold just for you in a member state of the European Union (one of the 15 you've already been to? ), to award you for all the maintenance and article improvement work you do at and around AfD. You are doing amazing work, categorizing new AfD submissions, and going an extra mile to fix problems in the articles, saving valuable contributions from deletion and making Wikipedia a more friendly place especially for new editors creating their first articles. Speedy deletion declined: List of IT Companies in Bangladesh
[edit]Hello The Mighty Glen. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of List of IT Companies in Bangladesh, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A10 only applies to recently created pages. Thank you. T. Canens (talk) 07:30, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
Hey, you tagged this article as being too essay-like. Why? What should be improved/changed in your opinion to make the article better and not essay-like? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jakob Faller (talk • contribs) 10:53, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Jakob Faller: hello, and thanks for your post. At the moment, the article seems to be mainly geared toward making a political point about the UK's role in the Iraq War, with a very brief and poorly sourced summary of all of the preceding history 1914 to tacked on as background. There are also many vague, unsourced claims in support of the point being made, and a good deal of WP:Synthesis. For example:
Oil, as a natural resource, as well as a commodity can be identified as a contributor to war. In both the first Gulf War, as well as the second Gulf War (more commonly known as the Iraq War) the means of oil and its flow to other countries were factors that had to be taken into consideration by Iraq as well as the international community[who?]. Even though political changes, economic sanctions, and war created an environment of instability in Iraq's oil production, specialists[who?] have agreed that there is still great potential in this Iraqi industry and that its production could affect oil trends in the coming[when?] years.[citation needed]
Crude oil is one of the most important income accounts for the Iraqi government's revenues and will continue to be on such high value for the foreseeable future.[13] This is due to the lack of diversification options the country has. [14] This dependency on crude oil, its drilling, and export has had negative implications for Iraq and has made the country a focus of discussion on the international forum. This is demonstrated in the OPEC production cut deal of 2016, in which all 14 members of the organisation agreed on cutting the oil production to 32.5 million b/d to secure a drop in oil prices.[15] Such moves has given rise to further discussions on Iraq’s dependency on the oil industry.[11]
Critics like the journalists Gregg Muttitt and David Whyte highlight the small interest the Iraq Inquiry puts into further investigating the role British energy and oil interests might have played in the UK decision to join the Iraq invasion in 2003.[33]
- Words like "quickly", "vast", "furious" are used freely in the History sections, along with unreferenced assertions like "The growing transatlantic pressure left the British (and French) no other choice other than to sell some of their acquired consortium stakes to the United States. " I happen to agree with some of what's written in the article, but that's quite irrelevant: an encyclopaedia article has to be written from a WP:Neutral point of view, with WP:No original research.
- I hope that's useful. Thanks, The Mighty Glen (talk) 14:22, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, regarding this edit of yours, I was thinking to create a page for that film. Can you tell me why was it deleted? I don't know where to find the reason. And what exactly does salted article mean? Thank you Vivek Ray (talk) 10:44, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, have a look at the page's current status for more info. "Salted" just means that the article has been protected from re-creation by an administrator, and in this case it's temporary protection, not indefinite. There's also a draft version at Draft:Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, and you'd be very welcome to improve that. Thanks, The Mighty Glen (talk) 10:46, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks a lot for that information. Will definitely try to improve the draft. Vivek Ray (talk) 10:54, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
Can the other article be deleted instead?
[edit]Hello, I noticed that the other page for Blanc & Eclare did not exist before i.e it was a redirect link to Jessica Jung's page, and it was recently brought into existence again due to you reverting the redirect edit. I was wondering, since it will take a lot of effort again to re-create the page again to reflect the draft version, is it possible to just delete that other page and use the draft version as the article page? That other page is very out-dated and it'll almost be like creating a whole new page anyway. I also saw that you used the word "merged" and I have no idea how to do that (I only joined this site a month ago).Jesstan01 (talk) 19:27, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. You could simply copy and paste the source of the new draft straight into the existing article, and note in your WP:Edit summary that you're doing a complete rewrite and update. That will preserve the WP:Edit history of the existing page, rather than deleting it. TMGtalk 19:42, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
@The Mighty Glen: Okay, will do. Another doubt, the article title is incorrect. The company name has no lowercase letters. It should all be in uppercase. How can I change that? Jesstan01 (talk) 15:24, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- Ah I see, yes that does appear to be the trademarked style of capitalisation. Not a problem, we can simply move the page to the correct case, once you're done updating it. TMGtalk 16:25, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
@The Mighty Glen: I have updated the page now. Thank you! Jesstan01 (talk) 20:18, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- I've requested a page move at the article talk page. The rewrite will need some work though: the tone is rather promotional, so it will need editing for WP:NPOV. TMGtalk 21:41, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
@The Mighty Glen: Yeah, I just tried putting in details that I thought would be relevant from some articles. I based it on The Row, which I guess wasn't the best example.
- Apparently, the all-caps title goes against some Wikipedia policy that I didn't know about. Another user stated it on the talk page. I apologize for the request! And thank you for your help! Jesstan01 (talk) 23:07, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
Wiki-newbie :)
[edit]Hello The Mighty Glen,
Thank you for your welcome message and edits on the Goodluck (band) article I tried to edit. I am definitely going to do the Wikipedia Adventure, as well as read through the information you sent.
I am still learning the Wiki-ropes and would be grateful if you could explain where I went wrong with my edits? I was alarmed to notice the links to the band's music videos on Youtube are blacklisted.
As a massive South African music fan, I would like to work across all of the Wikipedia entries for South Africa's musicians and bands but would obviously need to polish my knowledge of Wikipedia rules, style and technique. I think you'd make a great teacher!
Looking forward to your response, FraserBlackZA (talk) 08:59, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hello FraserBlackZA, and welcome! Not to worry, your edits were clearly made with the best of intentions, and many Wikipedia articles on South African topics definitely need expanding, so your help is most welcome. You could start by having a read of two Wikipedia guidelines: WP:Neutral point of view, and WP:Verifiability: those two areas were where those edits to the Goodluck (band) article needed a rewrite. The Wikipedia Adventure is also a great idea - it's both helpful and fun. Hope that's a useful reply. Cheers, TMGtalk 09:15, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

CarBuzz
[edit]Hello TMG,
Thanks for taking the time to review my latest submission. The reason you provided was the same as that provided by the article's initial reviewer, who's advice I followed to ensure the issues were addressed adequately. The second submission was then declined for a separate reason, which I also addressed by rewriting the article accordingly. I feel like I have come back full circle but I will repeat my argument nonetheless.
"As a website that publishes news stories, car reviews, and that provides research tools for car buyers, we are widely known in the industry and car-loving community yet perhaps not significant enough to have a full story written about us. You point out that we are a source of information, and that is essentially what we are.
I can provide dozens of citations where stories we have scooped, via interviews with car executives for example, have been used by other publications to create news stories for their readers. We are established enough for carmakers to loan us cars to review, conduct interviews with top execs, and we recently appeared on prime time TV on a Kia commercial, using our quote for the Kia Stinger.
Millions of people read our car reviews and use our shopping tools to make car buying decisions. We are a source of daily car news too. Is that not enough to be included on Wikipedia?"
In response to that, it was suggested I cite the website's Alexa ranking. I chose to use SimilarWeb, which provides the same service.
Do you have any other advice as to next steps?
Best wishes, Adam
--Adamwiki777 (talk) 11:21, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Adamwiki777, what's needed is significant coverage of your site from WP: Secondary, WP:Reliable sources, to show notability per WP:WEB. I might well have missed some, and would be happy to be corrected. Thanks, TMGtalk 16:15, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi. I have added several citations and most of the changes made to the page were in the form of formatting where I created a table to better represent filmography. Kindly recheck before you revert the edit as they've been made to improve the quality of the page, have citations and references, and have been made in good faith.— Preceding unsigned comment added by InGrayscale (talk • contribs)
- Most of what you've added back again is unreferenced. I don't doubt your good faith, but you still need to source what you add to a WP:BLP. Thanks, TMGtalk 14:50, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- I have just added a host of citations from reliable sources so please point out why the information still counts as unreferenced. Would be better to discuss rather than simply revert.
- Thanks for adding the references. I'm guessing more can be found for the remaining unsourced claims. Please let me know if you'd like a hand with that. TMGtalk 18:54, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Sunil Gavaskar
[edit]I edited a very minor detail about Gavaskar, to remove some information which was itself not sourced. There is no reference to support the current statement on that page as to why he resigned the team captaincy. By the way, I believe wiki policy on living people's bio is designed to avoid any attempt to unfairly malign that person. The edit I had made is fairly harmless, but it is okay if you people do not want that correct info on Gavaskar's page. Everybody knows that wiki is full of errors and not very trustworthy. I was just trying to correct one tiny mistake on that page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.63.225 (talk) 23:59, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Removing unsourced claims from WP: Biographies of living persons is fine. Adding your own unsourced claims is not. TMGtalk 00:09, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
I'm having trouble understanding what you would consider to be a "neutral" source for a living contemporary artist... Not only it has already passed WP:Artist, I have found Jon Kuhn's mention here [[1]] which was not added by me, as you can see. However, it clearly shows the need for Wikipedia to have an entry on Jon Kuhn... (which you just removed I guess)
I have referred to other already-approved Wikipedia articles of glass artists in the link above [[2]] when writing this Draft: Jon Kuhn article, such as Gary Beecham, Howard Ben Tré, and Jack Storms. It is clear that this Draft: Jon Kuhn article contain far more neutral, verifiable, and unbiased sources than most of the artists' Wiki listed on that page... and I also would think that PBS, Smithsonian, Henry Ford Museum, etc. are more than credible sources to be used to indicate the notability of the artist, but I would appreciate it if you could explain why you wouldn't agree, and show me an example of something you would consider worthy for Wikipedia.
Chezzy79 (talk) 14:22, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hello. If you read my response carefully, I said it needs better sources, and needs to be written from a WP: Neutral point of view. Howard Ben Tré is a good example; Gary Beecham is a poor one. TMGtalk 15:34, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

Kusum Dola Article
[edit]@The Mighty Glen: But why do you need an extra template on the top of the page, with template already existing in the section where it needs to be! Its so unneeded and disrupts the view of the article! Also, none is going to (or possibly can) add the citations you are asking for, the article is going to remain like that forever, when there is not even the need of an extra template, since the rest of the article is well-sourced! and why do I need to add the same template on the top of the article Naagin 3??, as I know it's perfect the way it is! Alberta Music Articles
[edit]Hi The Mighty Glen. Thanks for your message on my talk page. I'm new to Wikipedia and I've started trying to write draft articles on subjects about music in Alberta. So far I've written https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Canmore_Folk_Music_Festival and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Michael_Rault. I believe they meet Wikipedia's standards. The ROADEX Project
[edit]Hi Mighty Glen. Thank you for your note. Like the users above I am a novice with Wikipedia and did not realise that my cut & paste would cause such trouble. I apologise for appearing to plagiarise the ROADEX report “THE ROADEX PROJECTS 1998-2012 Project History and Index of Reports”. It was not my intention. I was the author of the ROADEX Project History report mentioned and it is difficult to set out the same history in Wikipedia without repetition. I can confirm that the ROADEX Project History report is in the public domain and available FOC on the ROADEX website www.roadex.org. It is not subject to copyright. By way of background I can let you know that I was involved in the EU ROADEX project from the outset in 1998 and was one of the founding members. The EU funding for the ROADEX projects ended in 2012 and a new self-funded collaboration ROADEX Network took over and is still active. As part of dissemination strategy of this ROADEX Network I have been asked to update the Wikipedia page for the ROADEX projects as a historical record, and additionally create a new Wikipedia page for the ROADEX Network. I realise that my first attempt at updating the ROADEX Project page was heavily based on my published ROADEX History report. The attempt was clumsy and I am prepared try again to make the page more interesting to the reader. Will this be acceptable? Ron Ronmun (talk) 17:56, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

However, when I checked some of the pages that i had created its quite shocking to see the tag and name of someone else.I had also posted the request for the same on the Wikipedia twitter page @Wikipedia you can check and verified it about all my details.Sorry, for posting the message without login but i don't have any option. And i hope that i would not suffer because of someone else mistake. Please, kindly look into the matter of concern. However,i had requested the user who had blocked the account but it seems the user is quite busy. So,can you please help me out because some articles created by me need revisions according to the time.
Yours sincerely,

A tag has been placed on Category:Lepidoptera described in the 20th century requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~ Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf) 14:18, 25 October 2018 (UTC)

Please explain
[edit]You had an 8-month gap in editing from July 3, 2018, to March 7, 2019. Please explain why you stopped editing and why you started editing again. If your reasons are private, you may e-mail me. Although you are not required to respond to these questions, your reasons might help me decide what administrative action(s) to take. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:24, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

Its important for his carrier and his future fans should know about his work. Thank you! Sadmansakib625 (talk) 12:34, 25 March 201
Category: Irish companies by year
[edit]Re Irish companies established by year eg Category:Irish companies established in 2016, I have created the usual container category for them i.e. Category:Companies of Ireland by year of establishment. Note that the by-year category can be copied for other (new) years without amendment. Hugo999 (talk) 11:54, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
