Mable J. Moore

Hi @The Knight of Sainte-Hermine, My name is Brianda, and I am the Wikipedia Expert for your class. I checked out your contributions and saw that you haven't quite started the project yet (at least on Wikipedia). The first step is to gather reliable sources on your topic to build out your bibliography. If you need any help getting started, please feel free to reach out to me, just remember to ping me. Looping in @9Starbucks. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:35, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Brianda, I am stuck and confused I thought I followed the instructions on where to place my notes in the sandbox but now I cant seem to find the work I started on. Could you please help me The Knight of Sainte-Hermine (talk) 02:58, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @The Knight of Sainte-Hermine, If you check out the toolbar column on the right side of the page, you'll see "User contributions" and that will take you to your Wikipedia editing history, and can locate any page you last edited. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 22:26, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@The Knight of Sainte-Hermine I looked over your page and have some feedback on improvements you can make:
  • Sources: I suggest looking over the training module on What's a good source to get a better idea of what a reliable source is for Wikipedia. Currently you have Moore's resume (written by Moore, not independent) and an Amazon page (They're a vendor, not necessarily a reputable publisher). For your bio to satisfy notability, you'd need at least 3 - 5 reliable sources profiling Moore.
  • Citations: Currently your inline citations are oddly formatted. My guess is you copied & pasted over from a word doc, and the citations didn't transfer (No worries, this is common.) Check this out on how to add citation on Wikipedia.
    • Keep in mind, every statement should be followed by a supporting citation; if a group of sentences are all supported by the same source, you can place a single reference after all of them, but you need to have at least one reference per paragraph, and you shouldn't have any statements after the final reference in a paragraph.
  • Remove "Dr." from the text and you can just refer to her as Moore throughout the article.
  • As you are editing your text, keep in mind this is an encyclopedic entry, and your writing for Wikipedia will summarize what independent, reliable, secondary sources have said about a topic, so that a Wikipedia reader can get an overview of the current thoughts and understanding of that topic (in this case Moore). Remember, the goal is to provide a neutral, fact based summary of the topic based off the reliable sources you've found. You can check out the article on Marsha Rhea Williams as a example on neutral, informative writing style and article structure.
If you have any questions about my feedback, please let me know. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 23:01, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Brianda I will work on this right away The Knight of Sainte-Hermine (talk) 03:40, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Brianda how do I change the top heading to show that I am working on Alphonzo Terrell's profile and not Mable Moore The Knight of Sainte-Hermine (talk) 23:38, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @The Knight of Sainte-Hermine, Apologies for the late reply. I was out attending conferences and just got back.
I see that you already created a sandbox for Terrell. Good job there. You have a good list of sources going on.
Below are a couple more:
In your sandbox, make sure to follow Wikipedia guidelines and use "Terrell" when referring to him throughout the article. Also keep in mind, periods/punctuation go before the inline citations, not after. I'd say not to focus on adding an image to the article. It's difficult to find images with free licenses that area allowed onto Wikimedia commons and Wikipedia. I suggest on focusing on the text content to make sure it has a neutral tone and is fact based.
And if you ever want to get my attention, remember to ping me, otherwise I might not see your message. But appreciate you for reaching out and engaging with me. Anything else comes up, let me know. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 23:06, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

HI Brianda, I have had to change the topic of my main page because the person I was doing research on did not want a wikipedia page so the new person I am writing on is Alphonzo “Phonz” Terrell

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Alphonzo Terrell.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 14:35, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
