HIllary

Greetings TFD. At ANI, Are you confusing Hillary Clinton, maybe, with some other page? I have made only 5 edits there and the only material I ever removed was UNDUE newsy stuff that has remained out of the article to this day? SPECIFICO talk 19:37, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

"I wrote, "usually if not always removing negative information from articles about mainstream Democrats such as Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden." I mentioned them because they are two of the most high profile mainstream Democrats in recent years. I was using them as examples.
While you may have only made five edits to the article, you joined eight discussion page threads where you argued to exclude negative information about Clinton. And of course there are numerous other articles where Hillary Clinton is mentioned.
I did not say the material you wanted excluded was DUE. My point was that you wanted negative information about mainstream Democrats removed and negative information about their opponents added in the overwhelming majority of cases. A neutral editor would have found reasons to include negative information about mainstream Democrats and positive information about their opponents, not just vice versa.
Your editing history shows that you are more concerned with the reputations of subjects based on your political views, rather than improving the articles about them. TFD (talk) 05:35, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
You gave no diffs or other evidence to support your allegations. At ANI, difs are what allow editors to evaluate what's presented there. I have no political views, and you often assert that I am not working toward article improvement, but that's false, and you don't support your opinion with evidence. Even if you may reject certain mainstream narratives, our NPOV requires us to convey them. As you may have seen, I was accused of whitewashing Trump's misinformation about COVID, so that's probably not consistent with your interpretation of my editing. SPECIFICO talk 07:09, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
You were accused of white washing because you reverted "[Trump] promoted misinformation about unproven treatments and the validity of diagnostic testing" to "[Trump] promoted unproven treatments and misinformation about testing." [16:21, 18 May 2023] There were several other disagreements with the other editor as well. I wouldn't however take that into account since it was made after the ANI thread began.
If you hold strong opinions and believe you are right, the best approach is to ensure that articles follow neutrality, rather than that they co nceal or over-emphasize information one finds persuasive.
What do you mean by you hold no political views? Are you saying that you didn't care who won the last U.S. presidential election, don't care if GMO products are labelled or whether the U.S. supports the government in Ukraine? Or do you mean that you base your political views on rational analysis of facts, as opposed to those who base them on irrational analysis or false information? TFD (talk) 10:48, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
I do not hold strong opinions about politics. I am a social scientist who views most such issues analytically and not in the categories that frequently come up in casual public discourse. Hence my name. Many people vote. We really can't concluded they're biased or opinionated. No, that's correct, I have no opinion as to GMO food labeling. Yes, you said it well. I am more or less rational and on WP I don't rely on my personal judgment above the weight of RS narratives. One of your own good contributions is that you're more familiar than most editors with noteworthy conservative thought and history. You frequently encounter talk page discussions that are based on misunderstanding or ignorance of such foundational knowledge. In my case, I have a pretty good grasp of economics and public policy. But I would not say that either of us is unduly opinionated. In fact, either of us might appear to be opinionated to good faith readers who do not have our background knowledge. But it hurt my feelings to think that you accuse me, without evidence, of prioritizing some personal agenda over NPOV editing. And even if you believe(d) that, a chaotic and cluttered ANI thread is not a good place to make undocumented conclusory statements like that. SPECIFICO talk 13:48, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
