Concern about possible PA
"This is actually an example of ineffective propaganda. It's so egregious, that it discredits itself. You'd have to be a bit more subtle in order to be persuasive." This is a great example of an unsubtle attack on other editors. I didn't write the article and accusing me or others of propaganda is a great way to find yourself reported at a noticeboard for casting aspersions. Andre🚐 18:06, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- My apologies. I was using the American "you' instead of the British "one." I normally try to use British English grammar, which is more precise if not pedantic, but sometimes slip into U.S. usage. It was not my intention to criticize any editors but the article itself. One can say for example that an article is poorly written without necessarily implying that other editors are poor writers. I shall make the necessarily change. Incidentally, I would ask for an assumption of good faith. You accused me of trying to get a 50/50 balance of good and bad coverage in the article, but I shall overlook that, since that may be your perception. Rest assured however, that my is not my objective. I have also had right-wing editors accuse me of left-wing bias because I rejected arguments in favor of 50/50. - OK. Fair enough. I apologize as well and I accept your apology. I am American FWIW not British, but people sometimes think I'm British because I was raised on a lot of Douglas Adams and I tend to use archaic vocabulary for rhetorical flourish. Andre🚐 18:37, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
Thank you!

For your efforts at being a voice of reason Malerooster (talk) 16:17, 29 December 2022 (UTC) |
Hi TFD, I would like to thank you for you efforts on this project. For a really smart guy, lol, I am not very good at articulating my thoughts in writing to get my point across and I usually get mad and give up or lash out. I find you are good at that (articulating, not lashing out) and have more patience than me and write a lot of what I am thinking and want to say. I don't advertise on my user page or ever discuss my politics, but I am actually very liberal and progressive. I am more a libertarian or independent if you had to slap a label on me. I find myself very often on different "sides" depending on the particular issue at hand. My own personal observation is that this Wiki is 70-30 left leaning?? which is fine, whatever, as long as both sides are being heard and represented and are on the record. Time will always tell. Anyways, all the best in 2023! Cheers, Malerooster (talk) 16:17, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
