User warning templates

TFD, in this edit, you templated User:Elinruby for alleged Edit warring at War of 1812.

In fact, according to page editor stats, Elinruby has three lifetime reverts at that article, one of which was a self-revert:

Your template on this user's Talk page is clearly not warranted. Since he has already responded, rather than remove it, per WP:REDACT you should strike it.

Please do not template users about Edit warring (or any other user behavior) when it is not borne out by the facts. Assume good faith, and do not try to intimidate other users so that you can get your own way in a content dispute. Instead, talk it out on the article talk page, and follow the guidelines of WP:BRD. Thank you, Mathglot (talk) 01:53, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

I counted more than three reverts. I would point out that accusing me of trying to intimidate other users is an assumption of bad faith. I avoid using templates with experienced users who have received the messages before, per Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars, but in this case that had not happened. I greatly appreciate your concern for other editors and look forward to your intervention next time you perceive some other editor has attempted to intimidate me. TFD (talk) 21:52, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
