Username issue

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "The Collection Magazine", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to represent a travel and lifestyle magazine published in Serbia. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you.  Velella  Velella Talk   15:12, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Velella, that is correct- The Collection magazine is indeed a lifestyle magazine which I work for. Therefore we wanted to make a Wikipedia page for it. The Collection Magazine (talk) 15:31, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but that is exactly what Wikipedia is not. Conflict of interest guidelines and policies would preclude you from editing any content about the magazine or its production compamy and policies on advertising would absolutely prohibit any text that appeared to be promotional. If the magazine is notable (and that has a special meaning on Wikipedia, then some wholly uninvolved person with write an article about it at some time in the future. However, please be aware that an article on Wikipedia, even if authored by a wholly independent person is not in any way controlled by it subject. Both good and perceptively bad content may be included if such text is supported by reliable and independent sources. A Wikipedia article does not always convey the messages that its promoters might have been hoping for.  Velella  Velella Talk   15:38, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
