Irish republicanism and Irish nationalism templates
Hi @The Banner, I've explained my reasoning on the deletion discussion.
It is unclear how republicanism is actually defined in {{Irish republicanism}}. I can only assume it is militant republicanism. There is no reference to Fine Gael and the SDLP so clearly it is not a general template on nationalism, hence the reason I went to create a separate template.
Hope that makes sense? (I've gone to talk page of CelticBrowne also)
Thanks Titus Gold (talk) 14:46, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
- You are in fact completely changing the subject of the template. And as it is largely double with "Irish republicanism", I have sent it to Templates for Deletion. The Banner talk 14:51, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Question
respected user, can you please fix year part in that section of "fc steaua" page, as hopefully know year has changed; even if court decision happened last night, needs an update. lastly, wish you dont think an article of club without staff/league/jersey or anything, doesnt need correct year either. kind regards

- Do you have a source?
- And I do not think it will change the notability of the entities involved in the row. As it is the row and court cases that already make the entities notable. The Banner talk 09:51, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

I noticed you have warned User:Maungapohatu in the past for unconstructive edits [1]. I wanted to let you know I warned them again today, and I'm letting you know here in case you want to take another look at their past edits. Timtjtim (talk) 20:02, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
Kavala airport destinations
check in the official page of Innsbruck airport about the flight to kavala. It will be operated by sky alps! Additionally to the page of the ideal tours. 62.74.59.248 (talk) 16:14, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

- A source that has no direct relation with the subject at hand. So not the airports and not the airline. But why are you editing Wikipedia when you are unable to understand what an independent source is? The Banner talk 20:34, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- Seriously ?The official flight plan of an airport is not independent? In that case you have to prove that the flight will take place this summer from marathon airlines. 62.74.55.28 (talk) 20:39, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- No, it is not independent, as it has a commercial interest. But maybe the website aeroroutes.com can be of help. The Banner talk 20:51, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Archives
Cluebot heard you like archives, so it archived the archive of your archive. Certes (talk) 19:43, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- I noticed it. No clue why. The Banner talk 20:51, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Looking through the bot's own talk archives, especially this, I think it's because the archive template is so far down this talk page that the bot fails to remove it when creating the archive, so the archive itself still contains a template and gets archived. Certes (talk) 21:16, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, so I have side stepped the problem by creating a separate page for the airport vandals. See User talk:The Banner/Airport vandal. I hope that solves the problem/hiccup. The Banner talk 22:03, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, here's hoping that the archiving template is now close enough to the top of the page to stop it from being copied to any more archives. I see that the archives with templates in them have been deleted as you requested. Certes (talk) 22:27, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

Canada ridings
Should we be reverting edits such as this? Pageviews show the provincial district ahead of the federal one, even when the federal one occupied the base name and before the spike for the recent election, and search results are similarly mixed, so I don't think the federal district is an obvious primary topic here. MOS:Canada#Ridings advises on article naming but doesn't tell us what to do with the base name. It may be impolite to create a skeleton dab and leave the links pointing to it, but is reversion the best option? Certes (talk) 12:34, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Further discussion at User talk:Ebbedlila#Enough. Certes (talk) 13:47, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- He should not be linking to disambiguation pages in the first place. The Banner talk 14:02, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- I think what's going on is:
- Move Foo to Foo (federal electoral district), correctly per MOS:Canada#Riding
- Overwrite the resulting redirect with a new dab called Foo, correctly as a provincial district also exists and there's no primary topic
- Fail to FIXDABLINKS, leaving lots of articles linking to the new dab Foo (possibly via one template)
- If the links were fixed then I think this work would make a useful improvement, but I agree that doing half the job leaves a worse situation than doing nothing. Certes (talk) 14:22, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

- Tonight's list consisted of 61 templates, all of them incomplete pages moves (1 plain vandalism). I fixed the requested moved (6 templates) and the vandalism. The rest I have reverted (all ridings indeed). The Banner talk 22:48, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- I've not reviewed the individual edits but I don't think this editor is a vandal. Anyone making 61 changes manually can easily get one of them wrong with no malicious intent. Although their edits have caused problems, they are making potentially helpful changes with good intent and in compliance with our guidelines. I'm inclined to help them rather than shouting at them. - I do not see him as a vandal. Just as editor who had no clue what the effects of his work were. I think he understands now. The Banner talk 10:03, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Banner, on the Oslo article, please don't revert. The whole thing is kind of silly anyway--an edit war over that isn't worth it. I wish, BTW, we wouldn't list that kind of program information in the first place. Also, I forgot to put the melted butter in my oliebollen at oud en nieuw. Please don't make the same mistake. - He should take a look at this. On the other hand: I did not celebrate Oud & Nieuw. I was working that evening. Actually, I was working 11 out of 12 days over Christmas and New Year. And having a kitten in the house gives some complications, especially with appelflappen (I rarely ate oliebollen). The Banner talk 23:42, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
