Welcome
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Please note that I have reverted some edits of yours. There are due to two important things about Wikipedia articles-
- We do not allow references from the Wikipedia articles themselves. Either both the articles have a common external reference, or we just link it. Read WP:CITE for further information.
- We do not really like direct quotations from people unless necessary. Especially when the person is not very notable. Read WP:UNDUE and WP:NOTABLITY for why we would not like to name the person if he is not inherently notable.
Hope you have a happy time contributing here. Cheers, and please ask me if you have any further queries. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:45, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
NPOV policy note
[edit]A comment by you in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:2012_Delhi_gang_rape_case#Victim.27s_name mentions me. NPOV impartial tone calls for avoiding personal comments. David F (talk) 03:00, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- That was not an impartial tone, that was trying to make you understand that there is a procedure for revealing the name of the victim according to the Indian Law even though the servers are located in US. Kindly read the comment once again, it was a consensus. For more information, go through WP:BDP BLP WP:BLPNAME Ajan talk
Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest
[edit]I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:02, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 27
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kakatiya dynasty, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Telugu (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Gary Lionelli
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gary Lionelli requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0003005/bio. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ■ ∃ Madeline ⇔ ∃ Part of me ; 13:26, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
- That should have been in a sandbox. My fault on not addressing it effectively. Thank you for taking care of it. The Ajan (talk) 10:40, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
