Welcome, and your username

[edit]
  • Hello, and welcome to contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you will have a successful time here. However, there's a problem with your username. Usernames ending in "Bot" are reserved for registered bot accounts, and since your account isn't one, you should not continue to edit under your present name. If you choose a new username I can rename your account for you. If you decide to do that, you should make sure that your new username complies with the username policy. Also, to save wasting time asking for a name that's already been taken, go to Special:CentralAuth, type your name in the box, and click on the button. If the name is already in use you will see details about the account with that name, and if it isn't in use you'll see a message telling you there's no global account with that name. Once the account is renamed you will be able to log in with the new username, and the same password as before.
  • If you would like me to rename your account, post a message here telling me what new username you have chosen. In that message include both the text {{ping|JBW}} and ~~~~. I will then be automatically notified of your message. Please do not edit anywhere other than this talk page under your present username. JBW (talk) 12:30, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
