Could you explain why you think that this summary is inaccurate? DS (talk) 13:42, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- I think the former summation was inaccurate because the source did not argue that "forced conversion is either benevolent or morally neutral" but rather that the alleged secret baptisms were not forced conversions, but at worst a well-meaning gesture with no coercion and no significant impact. 18:50, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- "Either benevolent or morally neutral", then (unless, of course, whatever deity is involved disapproves of baptism). But you disagree that secretly baptizing people who are unable to meaningfully consent counts as forced conversion, because it's done by subterfuge and deceit? Okay. - The source argues that secret baptisms are not forced conversion. The former summary cited the source but incorrectly indicated that the source conceded secret baptisms are forced conversion. I am not agreeing with the source; if the article cites the source, then there is an editorial obligation to correctly represent its content regardless of whether those arguments are legitimate. The perspective that secret baptisms do constitute forced conversion is properly documented elsewhere in the article. 20:47, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
