[edit]Hi there is a discussion at the noticeboard regarding an issue you have been involved in BLP noticeboard here - please consider reading and commenting thanks. Also as a word of advice, please stop reverting as you are close to violating WP:3RR and your editing privileges can be restricted, please accept this as a warning, thanks. - Thanks for the warning ;). While I understand - and wholly agree - that discussion should be had on the talk page of an article instead of engaging in an edit war, the WP:3RR rule clearly states that an exception is made in the case of BLP articles, because any contentious subject matter should be *removed* while a decision is being made. This is clearly because BLP articles are sensitive matters, especially for living persons, and we would not wish to leave potentially harming information present while a decision is being reached. - Thats true, but the BLP get out clause is only available in more extreme cases than this, such as clear defamation and insulting content and so on, this is not one of those extreme situations imo and I am sure many admins would agree with that position. - As with any matter such as this, it's unclear what an extreme case of defamation would be. For instance, if there were a BLP about me, I would be extremely insulted if anyone had added information stating that I was religiously Jewish. There are a number of personal reasons for that, and I would hope that the information would be removed expediently. In any case, the issue is being dealt with, so, cheers ;). - Yes, I understand your points. With his religion being added to the infobox, it does need discussion and if disputed is better left out while discussion occurs but as far as do no harm goes, he has two Jewish parents and studied the Torah as a child so he has had strong connections and it is not a total falsehood and defamation that I would say warrant the blp revert free get out clause - regards. Why does your edit summary here say "Reverting vandalism"? I hardly think there was any "vandalism" there.
Just so you know, there is a related discussion taking place at Talk:Nikki Yanofsky#Religious Views. Bus stop (talk) 16:05, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- I started that discussion, and the reason I called my edit "reverting vandalism" is because there was no evidence provided which indicates that Yanofsky is Jewish, and there has been a rash of people re-adding the information, knowing full-well that there is a talk page discussion on the matter.
