Thanks for signing up as a DRN volunteer
Hello TheDragonFire and thanks for signing up as a DRN volunteer. I hope you have already read this page to learn how to volunteer at the DRN. I recommend you watchlist the DRN page and its talk page to stay updated. However, before you moderate a case, you must make sure you have no bias against any editor involved or towards the subject area itself. Before you volunteer though, I would like to confirm that you have enough experience with the Dispute resolution process. Have you ever volunteered at Third opinion or any other dispute resolution process? Please ping me when replying. Thanks, Yashovardhan (talk) 16:02, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Yashovardhan Dhanania: Hey! I have volunteered at Third opinion before, though only once. I regularly deal with angry and distressed users through both Wikipedia:New pages patrol and at #wikipedia-en-help connect, and I would like to think that I take WP:CIVIL and WP:BITE seriously. TheDragonFire (talk) 06:43, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply! I will be looking forward for your help at the DRN. Make sure you watchlist WP:DRN and its talk page to ensure you are up to date with important announcements and new cases. You can start right away by opening any new case which has not yet been opened by a volunteer. Glad to have you here, Yashovardhan (talk) 07:35, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Well came to find out that the ip that was edit warring with everyone was a shockpuppet and has been taken care of via LTA case. Thanks for helping, btw. Reb1981 (talk) 00:14, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Reb1981: Ah! I probably should have picked up on that myself, as their behaviour was very indicative of an experienced editor, but I didn't make the mental jump to checking LTA cases. Happy editing! TheDragonFire (talk) 09:09, 3 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi. I nominated the article Columbidae for a GAR, which was picked up by ProgrammingGeek. However, he seems to be on a wiki break and it might be unlikely for him to review it. Even though I left him a message on his talk page, I do not think he would be able to do the review, as he seems to be on the break. So, could you help me out? Do you think somebody else could review it instead? Thank You. :) Adityavagarwal (talk) 16:49, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- FYI, I have left comments on the page recently and I am reviewing it. ProgrammingGeek talktome 16:55, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- @ProgrammingGeek: Hey! Before your wiki break you also committed to reviewing GNU General Public License. As you did not appear active, I reset the review status. If you are able to complete the review, simply revert this edit and continue. :) TheDragonFire (talk) 01:49, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
Volunteer at DRN
Since you are interested in volunteering DRN cases, I would give you a head start - take up Talk:Malayalam#Debates on_the_origins_of_Malayalam_-_June_2017 -both parties are willing for moderated discussion. Waiting to see you there. Yashovardhan (talk) 07:39, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- Your recent close at Talk:Croatian presidential_election,_2014-15 - the filer seems to be willing to engage in the DR process. I would suggest having a look at this message he left. I wouldn't say its a bad close though (would rather appreciate the close) as the filer had clearly stated his intentions not to discuss with the other editor. It would have been better to seek clarification or to mention the exact words used by the filer in your closing summarry. Yashovardhan (talk) 11:54, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Yashovardhan Dhanania: I have responded at Robert's talk page. I specifically did not quote the user as I find that has a tendency to come off as passive-aggressive. The referral to WP:RSN clearly did not work, but I've now re-explained that to the user. In response to your earlier message, I will attempt to find time to start taking some cases, but if I may be so bold, I think your aggressive pruning of the volunteers list and the general sense of WP:OBLIGATION surrounding DRN may be counterproductive in encouraging participation. TheDragonFire (talk) 13:04, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply there and your bold note here. I appreciate your comments and agree that I have been agressive with pruning the volunteer list and it might have proved counter productive. However, the fact of the hour is that out of 19 or so volunteers listed, only about 4-5 are active. All volunteers should at least check and handle a few cases once or (at max) twice a month. If not with handling disputes, they could help in clerking by closing premature cases or commenting on open disputes (like I and Robert often do). Yashovardhan (talk) 15:44, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

I have 6 new sources to back up my submission and I would like your input before I resubmit. The sources are neutral and tech related but they are not on the level of the New York Times. I would like to get your approval before I move forward. Interfacts (talk) 15:27, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- I've resubmitted your submission. I may review it if I get a chance. TheDragonFire (talk) 15:54, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- But wait, i did not yet add the 6 new sources..I wanted to get your opinion first rather than risk getting rejected again... Interfacts (talk) 16:02, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- You do realise that you can, and are encouraged to edit your draft at any time? Don't worry about rejections too much, what matters is that you keep improving the article. TheDragonFire (talk) 16:09, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
Request on 09:17:33, 21 June 2017 for assistance on AfC submission by Desmondcharls
i dont understand why the article dogo janja is said to violate copyrights and it will be deleted.
can you please point out the errors in the article so as i can be able to fix it.
Thank you Desmondcharls (talk) 09:17, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Desmondcharls: Noone has said that the article violates copyright? The draft was rejected as a test edit because it's a mess, but you've copied a better version to mainspace (here). That article has been speedy tagged under WP:G11. TheDragonFire (talk) 10:33, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
