Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:06, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
- I literally cited the Wikipedia reference for the meaning of the Chinese word. How is this original research? My only other reference was directly quoting the Wikipedia article farther up the page. Do you speak Chinese and understand this parallel? Or are you just rejecting this edit because I am a relatively new user? Thatbenmiller (talk) 13:35, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
- Please take more time to read WP:NOR. You also may want to review our manual of style; we don't arbirarily use "big" formatting tags. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:40, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
- I am quoting sources that are directly from Wikipedia itself. The article you reference suggests I need to link to a newspaper article or a research paper. Who would bother to write a research paper about such an obscure topic? What I’m hearing from you is Wikipedia would rather have nothing than have a healthy debate amongst the contributors about whether this is indeed interesting parallel. I think I learned everything I need to know about Wikipedia today. Won’t be contributing again. Thatbenmiller (talk) 14:07, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a debate forum. It's an encylopoedia. Thanks. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:07, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
