Original research

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as those in Sylar, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thanks for your efforts, and happy editing! --Madchester 05:59, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Usernames

[edit]

Although you have proven yourself to be a valid contributor, I regret to inform you that your username is unacceptable. This account is hereby blocked. You have three options:

  1. You can abandon this account and start over with a new one. If you do this, you will lose your edit history.
  2. You can post a request on Wikipedia:Changing username; if you choose this, you will first need to post a request on your talkpage to be unblocked.
  3. You can walk away from the project in disgust.

To be honest, I hope you choose 1 or 2, but 3 is always a possibility. DS 17:36, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please use edit summaries

[edit]

Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be near nonexistent:

Edit summary usage for Thanos777: 1% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 0 minor edits in the article namespace.

Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 21:17, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Page move

[edit]

I saw your request on the Administrators' Noticeboard. It doesn't require an administrator to move most pages; you just click the "move" tab on the top of the page and follow the instructions. In any event, I'm not an administrator, but I made this move for you. Please make sure it's how you want it now, and feel free to let me know if there are any questions. Yukk!

Yes I do remember it. And I was surprised to find out that there was no article for the Plasticman Comedy Adventure whosit. But yeah, vive Mighty Man and his dog.Bjones 02:08, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thanos777, I just reverted the changes you made to Fembot. That article was merged into Gynoid some time ago. That kind of thing should not be undone without prior discussion, so if you would like to propose that the articles be split, you can do that here: Talk:Gynoid. Thanks. Category:The Dark Tower characters is a subcategory of Category:Stephen King characters. Categorizing Dark Tower characters in both is redundant and adds clutter. –Pomte 02:10, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That, and most of them already have DEFAULTSORT tags, so you don't need to put that into the category anymore. Please clean-up the mess. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 12:21, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rune Magic

[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Rune Magic, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. B. Wolterding 17:48, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Mary Jackson (Stephen King)

[edit]

I have nominated Mary Jackson (Stephen King), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mary Jackson (Stephen King). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. AniMatetalk 00:05, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've also nominated Peter Jackson (Stephen King) and Tom Billingsley for deletion. They can be found in the same deletion discussion as Mary Jackson. AniMatetalk 00:16, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

December 2009

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Doomsday device. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also useful when reading the edit history of the page. Thank you.

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Doomsday device, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. Aladdin Sane (talk) 18:41, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Brother Voodoo

[edit]

Hi, Thanos. As you can see by my and one other editor working on Brother Voodoo, we probably need to talk out some of our differences in editing before engaging in an edit war. The basis for my edits of your material on recent events is WikiComics Project guidelines that prohibit the use of long, "blow-by-blow" plot descriptions. I would ask that you read the guidelines at WP:CMOS#PLOT and WP:CMOS#PRECISE, and that we speak again.

Please remember, Wikipedia works on consensus and guidelines, and that editors work best when we discuss our edits. Thanks, --Tenebrae (talk) 14:22, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I saw that you recently expanded the plot of 13 Sins. The problem is that the plot summary of film articles is supposed to be between 400 and 700 words per WP:FILMPLOT. Your additions pushed it over to 800 words, which is too detailed. The best way to write a film plot summary is to stick to the basic essentials. When you try to explain minor plot points or scenes irrelevant to the main plot, you get bogged down with too much detail and the reader loses interest. There are more guidelines and information at WP:PLOTSUM and MOS:PLOT. You might want to check them out. There are also helpful guides to writing better at User:Tony1/How to improve your writing.
