Here you have to know that

Kshatriya Thakor and Koli Thakor both are different communities in Gujarat.

Koli Thakor is mostly living in Saurashtra region and some part of Middle Gujarat.

However all Kshatriya Thakors belongs to North Gujarat and Middle Gujarat. They have same culture and traditions as all other Kshatriya communities. Also in their villages and regions they are still valued and respectable people called as Bapu, Darbar, Bha and many more. Their bright past records are still safe in Barot/Rao books who kept genealogies.

Their surnames, Gautra, Rishi, vansh and all other things are same as the Kshatriya's.

Actually before, Thakor was not caste but an honor given by local people in past

their ancestor's are still to be known as “Thakor Saheb(Saa'b) ”

And their surnames were different as all the Kshatriyas

But after year by year due to political agendas of dividing Kshatriya communities for votebank this caste added into OBC category with sub caste Thakor.

And these political agendas became very successful as from Youngsters of Saurashtra and some other regions who don't know history much makes fun of these Kshatriya Thakor as Koli. However their elders who know the facts give the same respect.

You can easily differentiate both these communities as

In Koli people's School leaving certificate written as Koli Thakor

While for Kshatriya Thakor's its written as Hindu Thakor.

I think this is sufficient information for you.

This is just the answer of your question.

But if we really want to enjoy the life with fun, we must have to throw ghost of racism.

Kshatriya Thakors are a caste in Gujarat.

Name

The word Thakor means landowner, Thakur, lord of the region, owner, lord, sardar, nayak, adhishthata, gamdhani, garasio, talukdar, nano raja, pradayak jati praja, rajput, and (kshatriya) comni a surname. In some areas of Gujarat, the Koli caste is also called Thakor.

History

The Thakor caste is believed to have originated from Gujarat. They are found in Mehsana, Patan, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Anand, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Saurashtra and Vadodara districts. This caste is similar to the saddle caste. The Thakors have surnames like Makwana, Solanki, Parmar, Zala, Chauhan, Vaghela, Dabhi and Jadav, which are also among the Rajputs, showing the same clan. Like other Hindu castes, this caste has retained its tradition. In many kingdoms, the person or chief who owned the villages was also known as Thakor or Thakor Saheb.

Specialty

Thakor has always been famous in North Gujarat for his dress and name. Youngsters wear chillies or earrings in their ears as well as kade kandora and a scarf on their shoulders or a head scarf or a turban. In addition, the elders wear warm dhoti and dress and wear socks or boots. Women wear fringed skirts and saddles (sari) as well as bracelets, combs or chains on the legs. Also wears hats and other ornaments around the neck.
