Australian place names
[edit]Hi - I noticed your edits to Mary Gilmore. Australian place names are automatically disambiguated as they are so often also names of places elesewhere. This applies even when we are quite confident the place name is unique. The only exceptions are capital cities, eg Sydney. So for example the link is to Bega, New South Wales and if you just want to show Bega then you use a pipe: " | " as per [[Bega, New South Wales|Bega]] to display as Bega. Hope this makes sense. Also, in general articles are only wikilinked once - I removed the three other Wagga Wagga links in the para on her youth. Regards--A Y Arktos 10:45, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
AfD nomination of The Groove (band)
[edit]I have nominated The Groove (band), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Groove (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. roux 16:12, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
