Speedy deletion of Paul Curley
Please do not move pages to nonsensical titles. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to learn more about moving pages, please see the guidelines on this subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Terrillja (talk) 01:21, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Marking Pages as Patrolled
Hello,
Thank you for letting me know about marking pages as patrolled, I didn't know about that feature previously, but I've found it now. I will add this to spam articles in the future so redundancy doesn't occur.
Thanks again,

Sunlays
I am helpless and everytime I am adding my article "sunlays" it's getting deleted. i am not advertising or it's not a spam. I just wrote 1 line introduction. i am not too sure what should I do. I desperately need your help.
please help me what should I do. it seems that you deleted my article "sunlays". i am a novice wikipedia user. i am not too sure the reason for the deletion. please tell me what did i do wrong. only thing i wrote was "it's a management consulting firm based in bangladesh". it's just a 1 line information about the company. so am I not allowed to add an intro line about a company? i am in Canada and it's one of the company i know. i feel very helpless. if you dont trust me, then i can give you my phone number and can call you or can give you my number too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kibria.mozumder (talk • contribs) 05:27, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- First, what I would suggest is that you read WP:FIRST, which is about writing your first article. The reason why I kept tagging the article for speedy deletion is because it didn't have any reasoning about why the company was notable, or any proof that they actually existed ( have seen many a hoax company). If you can add some sources which meet WP:GNG, then there is proof that the company exists and is notable. I suggest that you recreate the article not in the mainspace, but under User:Kibria.mozumder/Sunlays Management so that I can check it out and provide feedback for you. Click the link, it will say do you want to create this page, then you can create it there, where I can provide feedback for you.
- If you keep recreating the article in the mainspace without fixing the problems that I have stated, then you may get blocked, since recreating an article without fixing the problems is considered vandalism. Hopefully this helps you out, any questions about the article or wikipedia in general, ask me! --Terrillja (talk) 05:42, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- hi i created a site User:Kibria.mozumder/Sunlays Management as you have mentioned. i am not too sure how to use talk back option. If you search for sunlays in bangladesh you will find any info in internet. because it's a company based in bangladesh. the company was established in this year as well. as you may know over 97% people in bangladesh does not even have computer. only 4 people out of 1000 have a telephone line. you can see it by yourself by going here: [1] so, may be you may think it could be hoax since you can't find much info about it. Sunlays does not even have its own site because its clients are still doing old traditional business. So, going paperless and electronic advancement is something which is not yet widely used there. So, now you may wonder why i want to add. reason is pretty simple: at least people can know about it. and it's 1 line info. I only want to add one line "Sunlays Group Ltd. is a management consulting firm based in Bangladesh" that's it. no more... Kibria.mozumder (talk) 06:10, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- hi, please let me know should I add sunlays or not. you asked me to create a site under my user name. i did created. but i have not received any response from you. please let me know whatelse should I do. as i have mentioned its a company based in bangladesh. official lanugage of bangladesh is not english. and very few people have computers too. i showed you link yesterday where you can actually see that 2 people out of 1000 have computers. so, i really don't understand why wikipedia will want to block the link even though it's not meant for advertising, spam, or anything that can do any harm to people. it's only 1 line introudcution. please let me know what would be my next step. thank you for your cooperation. and also, it seems like other administrators may delete the link too. so, what is the point of getting approval from one administrator if another administrator deletes them.Kibria.mozumder (talk) 18:44, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- A few things: I can help you where possible, but I'm busy, like most everyone here, and I wanted to write you a proper reply. Also, if you are talking about the same article, please just add to the existing heading rather than creating a new heading, as it makes it hard to figure out what is going on. As for the article, if the company has no website and has not been covered by any major publication (a newspaper in Bangladesh could work, as long as it meets WP:GNG), however if the company does not have any sources to show why it is important, then it doesn't meet the criteria for inclusion. This isn't anything against you or the company, but the problem is that the reason why wikipedia works is because the information contained in it is cited, and anything that isn't is deleted. As such, the company does not appear to meet the criteria for inclusion, and they should not have an article right now. If they do end up being covered by a reputable organization, then we can talk about it, but as of now, they do not appear to meet the criteria for inclusion. --Terrillja (talk) 19:01, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for applying to access the account creation tool. I have approved your request. You may now access the tool here. Before you do so, please read the tool's guide to familiarize yourself with the process. You may also want to join #wikipedia-en-accounts on irc and/or the mailing list. Keep in mind that the ACC tool is a powerful program, and misuse may result in your access being suspended by a tool administrator. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Quick Addition to the PokeBattlers Subject
Also, whether A7 or not, a fangame does not meet the notability requirements of Wikipedia in general, unless it was widely covered by a reliable and credited source.
--Mooshykris (talk) 18:40, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Sheesh...
These PokeBattlers people are getting a little...pushy, aren't they?
--Mooshykris (talk) 19:06, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well the fact that they are talking about how they created the game, then wrote the article, I can't see wht it shouldn't get deleted just for COI. As for the argument that php code is software, Wikipedia uses scripting languages, but I doubt that anyone would argue that it is not web content. Just let them shoot themselves in the foot a few more times talking about how they created the game. --Terrillja (talk) 19:10, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, what they fail to realize is what I keep saying that a fangame that isn't covered by a reliable source does not meet the general notability requirements of Wikipedia.
--Mooshykris (talk) 19:14, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Also, we should possibly contact an admin at this point, because if you can see on my talkpage, I'm being accused of being biased for "not liking," which clearly, I'm not.

Lund Disambiguation
You guys are behaving as if the english wiki belongs to only english people , I have read the arguments from other user/admins I feel that the edit I made must be included . Otherwise go ahead and remove the content about all other countries from english wikipedia
thier are more english speaking people in India that they are in UK
This term has been used multiple times in Indian English. Try googling the term < Lund India > . Meanwhile I feel that this should be here , so better give me a reason why it should NOT be here before removing it . So anyway, after your advice about what we could do to keep the page alive, alas it was deleted as I slept anyway. so my work is gone and I will have to start anew. Problem is, I put a lot of text into it, and I won't be able to re-create it at least not verbatim. is there any way I can find it somewhere so I can copy/paste what I wrote, then modify it and re-publish? info would be helpful,

- You can get the article emailed to you by the deleting admin, just post on their talkpage and ask them. Having said that, if it is about a game you created yourself, you are better off not writing the article yourself, since it violates WP:COI, and for the article to be created, it still needs sources which show WP:N. --Terrillja talk 18:54, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
sonicrp deletion
I know you deleted that user page but it was a response to another user page that was created that was rather offensive. I tried to appeal that it was deleted but the user blocked my I.P from altering the page. The user shadowjt created his page to insult another person and often changes his I.P address to avoid been blocked from wikipedia. It would be in best interest that you look at the history of the contribution of user:shadowjt to gather a better idea about how the uder operates to insult real people. Proposed deletion of Wabdl canadian bench press records
How do I remove this if my Article is improved enough to be accepted?Powershape (talk) 16:59, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- You can remove it at any time, you have addressed some of the concerns, however I do not feel that you article(s) have met the criteria for inclusion, since they do not have 3rd party sources with meet WP:RS. Citing your organization is not a 3rd party source, so your lists are still unreferenced by wikipedia's guidelines. Another issue is that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, or a collection of statistics. See WP:NOT#STATS. I fail to see how a list of bench press records will go along with the Wikipedia's goal to further human knowledge.
- I really apreciate your help with my article. If it gets deleted, no problem, its been a great learning expirience.I'm going to try to write an article about Powerlifting or stregth sports for a future article that will be better suited for Wikipedia.Powershape (talk) 22:47, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Checkuser
If you look at the history of GRK1011 the user is putting everyone who disagrees with him in an edit war on the checkuser list. It is bullying behavior. If you look at my edits they are all valid. Polishmusicfan (talk) 19:16, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well if the checkuser case shows that none of the users are related, then a note to GRK will be in order, but right now you just need to let the case run its course. --Terrillja talk 19:21, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I use a shared IP called T-mobile with over 200,000+ users. I actually found out about the edit war when my IP was blocked because another user was vandalizing it and made an effort to stop the edit war. My philosophy was that banning the socks would make no difference but removing overtly POV ( both negative and positive) was a solution. GRK1011 knows this ( I mentioned it in the discussion) and is trying to block me as I removed his material as it was SELF PUB and exacerbating the edit war. I tried to communicate with the user a number of times but he removes my comments from his talk page. I think it is valid for me to ask him to stop inflaming an edit war. Polishmusicfan (talk) 19:26, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- You can ask, but removing yourself from the case is not the way to do it. It's sort of like if the police bring you in for questioning, you say you are innocent, then run out of the police station. You never let the process(or police) do its(their) job, and you come off looking like you are trying to hide something. --Terrillja talk 19:33, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

- ???? I added in the IP address, this is bullying. Polishmusicfan (talk) 20:15, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
- No, you removed the 194.x.x.x address. I am not an idiot, do not treat me as one. This diff[2] shows your version next to mine after I reverted your attempt to remove the IP. Notice how the 194.x.x.x address shows up on the reverted version but not yours. Do not continue to play with the checkuser case or you will find yourself blocked.--Terrillja talk 20:19, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Request to remove my user page
Kibria.mozumder (talk) 20:01, 9 November 2008 (UTC)hi i am requesting to delete my user page, and subpage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kibria.mozumder/Sunlays_Management. I deleted it already. but then why it's still showing up in google search? I tried to delete my account too; but i read the wikipedia policy where it says account can not be deleted.
if account can not be deleted, then please delete my user page and the subpage you wanted me to create. first i tried to move the subpage to my user page, thinking it would delete. had i known wikipedia is so much complecated, i won't even sign up. first, i added sunlays. then you deleted it because you did not find any significance. that's completely fine with me. but then you asked me to create page under kibriamozumder/sunlays management. i created. but you still did not add it. now, i want to delete everything from wiki. now, please don't say that you can't delete either. please delete as much as you can because i don't want people to search sunlays in google and come up with this wikipedia link. unfortunately, this is what's happening. one of my friend called me yesterday and told me he searched "sunlays management" in google and it come up with my subpage in wikipedia.
it's annoying. even imyself have just searched sunlays management in google, it comes up
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=sunlays+management&aq=f&oq=
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kibria.mozumder/Sunlays_Management
please, for god's sake, delete sunlays management from wiki. since you did not add sunlays, i dont want anything to be added under my user page.
- The userpage can be deleted, and will be in short order. I'm sorry that I had you create it, but I thought it was a company which met the criteria for inclusion, so I was hoping to work with you to get it there. As for the google search, since it has been indexed by google, it will show up in google searches until google re-indexes your userpage. This could be in 10 minutes or a month, it's up to google's search spiders, nothing anyone here can do to get google to remove it. Sorry for the frustration, but if there is anything else I can help you with, feel free to post here. --Terrillja talk 20:10, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

A note
SQLBot-Hello is screwing up your signature, look here for example. Are you sure you ticked 'raw signature' in the ACC prefs? — neuro(talk) 15:39, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, roux had noticed that and mentioned it to me on IRC a little while ago. Somehow the signature isn't being translated properly. It is happening for everyone with a custom signature, but I'm not sure it will get fixed anytime soon since sql was on hiatus last I knew. Thanks for the heads up though.--Terrillja talk 15:43, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Addendum: ACC only accepts signatures as wikicode, there is no saw signature pref, it is the only allowed way to code a signature.--Terrillja talk 15:50, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Odd, I'm sure I ticked 'raw signature' in ACC somewhere. Good I'm not using SQLB, I suppose. :) — neuro(talk) 16:01, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
