Please stop using this "Washington Post" ref., it's doctored/fake, not the original article; he never said any of that. This is the original, actual article: here. At the newspaper's actual website. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 15:16, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
Source reliability
[edit]Why is it fake when that same reference has been used twice in the article already? It's the only sourced citation of him speaking Tagalog at home too. I perhaps should have used a better link, but the "real" article you sent me is a different one TerraceCliff (talk) 15:58, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
- It's the same article, except someone changed "Indonesian" to "Filipino" and "Dutch" to "Dutch and Tagalog." There is no Filipino connection here. He never said it. This is the original article, at the Washington Post's site. This is the doctored/fake version of the exact same article. Yes, someone used it as a reference on Wikipedia, but I changed the link to the original now. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 17:38, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
- Original "Washington, D.C.: Wikipedia says that you are fluent in Dutch. Is that true? It must be if Wikipedia says it....
- Mark-Paul Gosselaar: My mother is Indonesian and my father is Dutch and at one time I was fluent in Dutch while I was living at home."
- Doctored - "Washington, D.C.: Wikipedia says that you are fluent in Dutch. Is that true? It must be if Wikipedia says it....
- Mark-Paul Gosselaar: It's actually a complicated story. My father is Dutch, but he was born in France and my mother is Filipino, but she was born in Indonesia. My mother is Filipino and my father is Dutch and at one time I was fluent in Dutch and Tagalog while I was living at home." All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 17:39, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
If that's true, then that source needs to be removed completely, as well as the notion of him speaking Tagalog, not just my edit of it. I would like evidence of one being fake and doctored with, and the other being the true one. Even so, he simply mentions her as "Indonesian" and "Asian" in other interviews, so the "Dutch-Indonesian" TerraceCliff (talk) 03:13, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
