- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:Maqluba. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. You are flooding the talk page with poorly formatted and entirely unclear material, "well researched" with blogs and Facebook. If you want to contribute, do it concisely and with proper sources--and stop pinging totally uninvolved editors. Drmies (talk) 16:00, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Drmies,
- Mainly I want your advice as to formatting the request in a way other editors would be open to it without being too bearing and to adjust the talk page. And also I want to ask if I in some way can unclog the talk page after my disruptive use of it?
- Also , I would like to admit my well-researched sources weren't the Facebook post ones but I wanted to show that even popular local folklore supports the existence of such records as multiple more trust-worthy sources cited. And honestly the article itself holds much speculation and depends on blogs and similarly written stories to justify the disputed points in it. So I'm confused why it's still used in the permanent version of the article if they're not convincing enough to be considered evidence. TemporaryProfile00 (talk) 16:47, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- Well, I suppose they're still in there because no one has sought to improve the article. You could have discussed some of the material and some of the sources and their reliability--in short, concise posts. No, the history of that talk page, where you've now made 100 or so edits, that cannot be undone. Next time, please use the preview button. As for popular local folklore--it needs to be verified by reliable secondary sources, just like all other material. Thank you. Drmies (talk)
