I agree it can seem jarring. According to Talk:Ethinylestradiol#No space in title?, the non-spaced form is the INN name. Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Medicine-related articles#Article titles long ago reached consensus to use that sort of systematic name for the titles of drug articles. Other forms are also listed and have redirects, so a ethinyl estradiol link or searching for the phrase "ethinyl estradiol" still gets readers to the right place.
