DiscoStudio.com - May 2010
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from DiscoStudio.com, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:25, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Hi James, with regards to DiscoStudio.com, my apologies about removing your tag, I did that by accident. I have now added the hangon tag below and also added some more information for you to look at both on the main page and on the talk page. I hope this is satisfactory. If not, please let me know what I can do? Thanks. Technicalspartacus (talk) 10:44, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- I realised that the removal of the tag was an accident, I was just letting you know to help you avoid the same mistake in the future.
- The article at present does not give any indication that the company satisfies Wikipedia's notability criteria. In order to do so it is necessary to show that there is substantial coverage of the company in reliable sources independent of the company. There is a bewildering amount written on this subject, but I think you should at least read the general notability guideline and have a look at the guideline on notability of organisations and companies. Also relevant is the FAQ on organisations, particularly the section Why doesn't Wikipedia have an article on my organization?. Finally, the guideline on reliable sources may be helpful.
- I have removed the speedy deletion tag for now, to allow you time to add sources. My impression is that the company is probably not notable by Wikipedia's criteria, and the article will be deleted in a while. However, if you can prove me wrong by providing suitable sources then I will be happy to see the article stay. Hi, JamesBWatson (talk) 10:57, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Hi JamesBWatson, I have amended the article to be more extensive and I have ennsured that it is factually correct. I have added some references, but due to the nature of the industry there is not much external suporting media coverage. However, I am going to continue to look for citation references and update the article as I find them. Is this enough so far for the article to say? Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions. Thanks Technicalspartacus (talk) 08:50, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
- The reference to the article "Almost half of UK homes have Internet access" is useful in confirming a fact stated in the article, but not in establishing the notability of DiscoStudio.com, as it is not mentioned there. Unfortunately forum posts are of little or no use in establishing notability, as most of them are not reliable sources. That leaves one source which may be better: at present I don't know anything about www.dn-hd2500.com, so I can't say how good a source it is. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:15, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Hi JamesBWatson, No problem - I will continue to find sources. I have also added the {{[Template:Expand|Expand]]}} notice at the top to encourage others to contribute sources. The problem is that most supporting articles are in printed magazines. Unfortunately, here in the UK (and particularly in the DJ and musical instrument industry) our industry magazines are still printed and in-order to sell magazines they don't print their articles online. I'm sure this will change sometime in the future but for now it's quite frustrating. I've noticed that in the United States, most magazines print a summary on their websites at the very least as this generates interest in the subject and encourages people to buy the magazine. - If only the UK worked like that! So I will continue to look for sources.
Welcome

File source problem with File:Discostudio logo.png
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Discostudio logo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:21, 5 September 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:21, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Shoppingcom-Logo.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Shoppingcom-Logo.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:08, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
File:Price Spin Logo.png needs authorship information.
[edit]The media file you uploaded as File:Price Spin Logo.png appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.
It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.
Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).
- If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Technicalspartacus}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
or use the {{own}} template.
- If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
