Members of TORT calling themselves Tortfeasors

[edit]

When did that happen? --Bobak 18:18, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome. Amazing what can happen in a year. A long time ago, and I'm referring to the 1960s, the sports teams of the UMN Law School competed as the tortfeasors. --Bobak 16:45, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ha ha... another TORT member on Wikipedia. Very nice. --BaronLarf 05:22, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Monsters emily.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you uploaded the same image twice: as Image:Monsters emily.jpg and also as Image:Monsters.jpg. The latter copy of the file has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 21:17, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please provide a citation or reliable source when asserting potentially libellous facts on biographies of living persons

[edit]

I refer to this edit. Please see WP:BLP#Reliable_sources, WP:ATTRIB and WP:NOR for further information. --MalcolmGin Talk / Conts 11:14, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but LJ is not an appropriate source for this kind of assertion. Please review the policies/guidelines I linked to above. I'm going to revert your changes for now, because the citation's really not appropriate for the assertion. Good going on neutralizing the language, but the citation really needs to be from a reliable source. Someone's opinion on LJ doesn't really count. --MalcolmGin Talk / Conts 00:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Action Squad

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Action Squad requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. FrankTobia (talk) 04:30, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Twin Cities Improv Festival has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable; requires significant coverage in independent reliable sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Wikipedical (talk) 05:48, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Project Check It! has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This unreferenced stub has little notability outside Wikipedia, and no notability outside the Universities of Michigan or Minnesota.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
