Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Britney Spears has been reverted, as it introduced negative or controversial biographical material without providing a reliable source for this information. Wikipedia requires that all such material be sourced to address the issue of libel. Thank you. DVdm (talk) 11:20, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Valeriya Guy Germanika, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. - DVdm (talk) 11:23, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Lika Dobryanskaya has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No notability established.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nymf hideliho! 23:21, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Marina Malafeeva requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. A tag has been placed on Jeniffer Viturino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Hi Tatyana, you really need to use proper sources when writing about living people. The website you used as a reference seems to be a fansite. When writing about living people we need to make sure we get things right, and that involves verifying all the statements and facts about them by using references to reliable sources such as books, magazines and newspapers. They don't have to be in English, Russian sources are fine so long as they have a reputation for fact-checking. Adding sources avoids us making mistakes and it will also help you avoid having your articles deleted, which I see has happened a few times already. Fences&Windows 12:53, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

[edit]

Given your long history of inappropriate article creation and your continued addition of unsourced information to biography articles, I would suggest that you take a break from editing to review Wikipedia's notability criteria for inclusion as well as BLP policy. I also strongly suggest that you find yourself a mentor to assist you with your editing. The bottom line is that you cannot continue to edit as you have been - it is time consuming for other editor's to have to continually monitor your work. ⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Kkitaine f kimkataine.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

Final warning

[edit]

As my previous request to stop creating unsourced articles on marginally notable biography subjects has fallen on deaf ears, I'm going to draw a bright line so that it is completely clear:

  • As of the timestamp on this message, if you add personal information to a BLP that is unsourced, or sourced only to IMDB, I will block you.
  • As of the timestamp on this message, if you create any additional biography articles that contain unsourced personal information that is only accompanied by a link to IMDB, I will block you. WP:BLP is Wikipedia policy, and you cannot continue to violate it.

I implore you to seek mentorship and to ask questions if anything is unclear in order to avoid possible sanctions on your account. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:55, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"children" in infoboxes

[edit]

Please don't add names and birth dates for peoples' children in infoboxes, as you have been doing at several articles ([1][2][3]). The instructions for this template indicate that when a person's children are not notable, only the number of children should be indicated in the infobox; their names should only be given in the infobox if they are notable (that is to say, if they have an article on Wikipedia that can be linked to). Replaceable fair use File:Yelena Chernykh.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Yelena Chernykh.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nymf hideliho! 14:38, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at Talk:Ellen Janov with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Ellen Janov.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While contributions are appreciated, Wikipedia must require all contributors to understand and comply with its copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. 66.83.126.37 (talk) 05:01, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Block notice

[edit]
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for continued BLP violations via the continued addition of unsourced personal information (examples since last block here, here and here). This block is indefinite as the previous two blocks apparently did not impress upon you the absolute requirement of including reliable sources when adding or changing information in biography articles. If at some point in time in the future you understand that Wikipedia is not a gossip rag and that personal information added to BLPs must be accompanied by reliable sources you can request an unblock. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
