Speedy Deletion Contested

[edit]

I assume that my user page was flagged for speedy deletion because I had not confirmed my email before editing the page. I have since confirmed my email and based on the policies on speedy deletion, do not see another basis for speedy deletion of my user page. I am still editing the page before looking to make it "live", but I think it should not be flagged for speedy deletion. In addition, (1) when I previewed the early stage edits of the page, the references did not appear, though the footnote numbers did; (2) some of the spacing of external link text was slightly off (additional space). Your suggestions for addressing these issues would be greatly appreciated.--Tastypick (talk) 05:28, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The page had been tagged manually, but failed to provide a reason; it had nothing to do with the confirmation of the email, so don't worry. References are generated generally by using <references/> or the {{reflist}} template that I used and the external links have spacing because Internet Explorer (which I assume you use) doesn't load the external icons like it does with the others (it happens only with external links which have a <ref> close by) - they display correctly with Firefox or Opera (web browser), so I'm not sure if that could be fixed without switching browsers. -- Mentifisto 09:22, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
