Archery articles
[edit]Thank you very much for contacting me, Tar-ba-gan. I have been watching much of the Olympics this time around and may be able to help you out - though I may not be able to expand many of the articles on archery competitors. I will try, though. Bobo. 17:18, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Bobo thanks a lot for your help! I mostly observe Olympics thru Wikipedia publications these days so your help as a witness is very much appreciated, also! I am not seeking to expand these articles (except for the sports person's card templates maybe), I was more concerned about my English in an area that is new to me even in my native Russian, which right now, due to the attention people pay to the Olympics, may be directly harmful. --Tar-ba-gan (talk) 11:34, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Leonid Yuzefovich
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Leonid Yuzefovich requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Goodvac (talk) 22:42, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
I noted your interest in Evariste Huc and Joseph Gabet. I have just created an article for Gabet, primarily using material translated from the French Wikipedia article. On the talk page there's a link to the page for the British Library Dunhuang Project editathon which includes both of them as article editing targets. Opbeith (talk) 16:41, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cheng Duanli, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Yuanshi. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:29, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

[edit]https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Twentieth_Century_Impressions&curid=50520292&diff=733668520&oldid=730452125 - there does not seem to be a very adequate edit summary to say why a footnote is being removed to be replaced with a very general say nothing comment. JarrahTree 10:26, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, I accidentally removed a footnote? Sorry, will try to undo my edit then. --Tar-ba-gan (talk) 10:43, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- No big deal, the whole series are weird at the best of perspectives, very imperial/colonial/ snapshots, but there seems an extraordinary paucity of details about the people involved in the venture, and the note about the people involved was intentional in the hope that a following editor might avctually be able to trace info about the obscure british imperial colonial writers interested in the innards of colonies and other far flung places from London. cheers and np JarrahTree 10:51, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I found I had not removed the footnote but moved it to next paragraph, but anyway. As for content, a lot of details and a lot of locals that we do not find otherwise. The scope of British journalism on actual people (locals as well as colonial administrators, with pictures) is adorable. In the particular book about HK and late Qing China, there are dozens of Chinese people, as well as Germans, Russians etc. I do not really know any other tradition that tells you about businessmen, every other journalism is crazy about supreme leader, aristocracy and soldiers, and then they just switch to pop celebrities. Actually, you can see that the book of the series, about Ceylon, is a major source about history and family history for people of today's Shri Lanka. --Tar-ba-gan (talk) 12:17, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Sketis Music
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Sketis Music requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
