Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Tamsin NMA. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page National Memorial Arboretum, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 11:25, 8 June 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at National Memorial Arboretum, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Egghead06 (talk) 16:48, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
Please reinstate these changes, the information on this page is outdated and partially factually incorrect. I updated this page using the National Memorial Arboretum website and guidebook, as well as the fact that I know a lot of the history as well as visiting often the site it is today.
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Mean as custard (talk) 09:25, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- Wikipedia does not condone promotional editing, and editors with a conflict of interest must disclose such situations. Please take a read over edit requests for how to suggest edits to articles that you have an outside affiliation with. I trust this information will assist you during your time here. All the best. -- Longhair\talk 10:08, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
Hi both, if you are able to let me know which of my edits are 'promotional' I can look at altering my wording. I am using facts from their website regarding their history and memorials so interesting to know which bit is against your rules.
