Wikipedia:WikiProject Arena Football League is back

Because of word that the new league formerly called "Arena Football 1" has decided to take on the new Arena Football League moniker, I thought it would be a good time to revive Wikipedia:WikiProject Arena Football League. The team I adopt for this project is the Milwaukee Iron (my home team), and I am leaving this message on your talk page to (hopefully) get you back interested. Hey man, do you know how to make the Arena Football League infobox not so wide?? I cant add the USA flag icon without making it way too fat looking.. Okay, well I was just seeing if there was a way, cause something happened since the merge, cause that was the same setup that the Arena Football (2010) article had, and it wasn't nearly as wide. Men's Olympic Hockey Bracket Updated

I noticed you just recently updated the Template:4RoundBracket-Byes with 3rd and were easily able to manipulate the lines within the template, do you mind giving me instructions on how to do this for future reference? Blocparty22 (talk) 18:40, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Bracket

The reason the bracket template didn't have lines is because it provides for re-seeding between the 2nd and 3rd rounds. When you edited the template, you "broke" that feature of that template. Someone on the talk page copy/pasted a tournament bracket from a tournament that uses a different format, but didn't read it closely to notice. We need to use the template I've placed on the page, because that is the right-looking bracket template and doesn't break the re-seeding feature of the other template. The problem is, none of the default templates include space for a 3rd place/Bronze Medal game. This entire initiative got started when someone said we ought to use a template that looks consistent, and this one does, but it doesn't have a 3rd-place game. Can you edit it to include that? Someone has reverted me and insists that other bracket is not intended to reflect a re-seed. You have been very polite and cooperative but I don't care to keep arguing if there are other people who want to insist on using the other template. But I appreciate your effort. Gold medal game attendance

Hi.

I've seen that you have updated the attendance of several ice hockey games at the recent Olympic Games. Both the men's and the women's gold medal game still miss the attendance. Would you care to find it out? You obviously know where to look.

Little league world series articles

Thanks for the message - I read it as possible POV pushing or even going far enough to be vandalism based on the fact that that was basically the only change made, it was being made to a lot of articles, and there was not an edit summary or any other explanation - even after a user warning the user didn't try to communicate their intentions at all. I'm also pretty sure those were the only edits made from the IP. Those generally aren't good signs, and I applied the "duck test" at the time - "looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, must be a duck" in determining the value of the edits, rather than WP:AGF because frankly, I saw too much that suggested the possibility of bad faith to me. On further research I now realize that the term Chinese Taipei is the name several international sports governing bodies recognize Taiwan as, starting in 1981, and that this was effectively a diplomatic compromise - but I'm not sure that this is the name that the little league world series recognizes - Taiwan has also been represented at different times as "Republic of China", "China" and "Taiwan" in international competition, among possibly other names. This is a weird case too under the manual of style, because the name recognized in most of the English speaking world for Taiwan is just "Taiwan",with specific political exceptions calling for various alternatives so I'll look at this again and if I need to, I'll undo my reverts. Attempting to follow historical accuracy, I've restored the "Chinese Taipei" version for the articles dated after 1981. I think there needs to be discussion before we are to accept what amounts to political revisionism of the earlier articles, but I have no problem in accepting whatever the outcome of such a discussion may be. Hey, I was thinking of something cool if it was possible.. Do you think it would be possible to set up all of the AFL teams sports templates up like the NFL's??
