A tag has been placed on Tameko requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. [edit]Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Although you (correctly) used the {{hangon}} template on the page, please leave the speedy deletion intact. In this case, I've restored it for you. Thank you. Cycle~ (talk) 18:57, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Copyright
[edit]I asked you guys to consider this for undeletion you did not even answer my requests of comment. I own the copyright to Tameko's story...I am Tameko so how are you deleting it due to copyright violation. You can go to the library of congress website online and find that out. I have a registered copyright. Tameko49 (talk) 22:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- If you re-read the notices on this page, you will see that the content was not deleted for a copyright violation, but lack of notability. Our WP:MUSIC guidelines set out what constitutes notability for bands, musicians, DJs etc. On a side note, your claim to the ownership of copyright does not grant its use in Wikipedia. Firstly, there is no way of Wikipedia knowing that you, editing under the username Tameko49, is the actual owner. Secondly, the content must be permitted to be used – usually through a release statement. You may wish to read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Cheers. Cycle~ (talk) 22:54, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Notability??? Why do I not have notability if being played on radio, television and interviewed by newspapers? Do you want me to write a letter for permission to post my picture and story? Tell me what to do. Also my picture posted here is part of public domain. The newspaper article that Julie Lane did on me posted this picture on line at Timesreview.com and in print. So it is part of public domain. You can contact Julie Lane at the Times Review Newspaper for verification of public domain or do a search through the Times Review online files through the library or website. Tameko49 (talk) 00:34, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- I can't access the article now it has been deleted, but I can assume that such coverage was not asserted in the article. Furthermore, it must be established – such as the particular radio/television stations, and the newspaper editions in which coverage has been included. It may be best to take this up with User:Stifle, the administrator who deleted the article. You can leave them a message here. I suggest you also read WP:AUTO and WP:COI, our guidelines on autobiographies and conflicts of interest. To quote the former, "If your life and achievements are verifiable and genuinely notable, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later". Stifle First off my picture when I released it to the paper I gave them a release to public domain on it. Which meant they could use it as part of public domain or else they wouldn't have been able to use it. Secondly apparently the [handon] with reasons for not deleting does not get read. I gave three radio stations with names and numbers to verify information. I submitted the newspaper article and contact for verification.

[edit]Tameko Wood.jpg is me! I am Tameko Wood what license do I need to put my own picture of tell my own story on this web based information site. This is a true story and is news worthy to people all over. People need to know they can overcome. There is not a legal problem here! Tameko49 (talk) 22:40, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. In future please try to select a more appropriate message topic as it can help resolve your issue quicker.
- There are two separate issues here.
- The first is the image Commons:File:Tameko Wood.jpg, which you say is in the public domain. I believe you misunderstand the meaning of "public domain". It does not mean that the image has been published somewhere, but rather that the copyright on the image has expired or that the copyright holder of the image no longer claims copyright on it. As the image is copyrighted, unless we get permission from the copyright holder (which would be the person who took the photograph or possibly her employer) to release the image under a free license, we cannot use it.
- The second is the article Tameko. I deleted that article because it doesn't explain how the subject (you) might be notable (see WP:MUSIC and WP:BIO for how someone might be notable). It's better to wait for someone else to write about you on Wikipedia; it's not a free webhost.
- If you can provide details of reliable sources which have written about you (these would be major newspapers, magazines, books, or the websites of any of those), or otherwise explain (with verification) how you meet one of those notability guidelines, I'd be happy to reconsider my decision. Otherwise, you may file a request at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Stifle (talk) 09:16, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Did you not reaad the newspaper article or the radio stations that was listed before deleting all articles contributed by Tameko49? I included the newspaper article that represents who Tameko is and which should validate her picture being part of public domain both in print and online.
- Tameko49 (talk) 17:42, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- The only links in the deleted article are to the website cdbaby.com and to myspace, neither of which are reliable sources. I don't see anything there about newspaper articles.
- Regarding the "public domain" issue, please read my previous message again. Stifle (talk) 17:47, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Stifle the information was given under the [hangon] that I submitted! Didn't you read that??? 96.57.26.162 (talk) 18:00, 26 January 2009 (UTC) Stifle First off my picture when I released it to the paper I gave them a release to public domain on it. I meet these notable requirements because I was a homeless person and am now a productive citizen with a college degree. I meet this requirements because just like Helen Keller I has a handicap and overcame. I am a shining star for others to gain strength from. People need to know they can overcome too. I escaped abductors on three different occassion. I am a walking miracle. It is also gaining media attention. I have been on Cablevision Channel 20 and Channel 115 telling my story of overcoming homelessness through the help of two people who built a room onto their house to give me a second chance. Call Rick Jordan producer.of the Cablevision Shows...631-281-7172. This show has aired all month long you can catch it this Thursday on Cablevision Channel 20 on Long Island 10:00 in the morning. - I still don't see what in that meets WP:BIO.
- Regarding the image, the newspaper would have to give permission.
- You can file a request at Wikipedia:Deletion review if you still feel that the article should be restored. Stifle (talk) 20:08, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Here is your requirements straight from you page and all these radio stations and television programs are independent from me. Below is the notes from the page you requested me to go to.
This page in a nutshell:
A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject.
Notability criteria also must be met for a person to be included in a list or general article; in this case, however, the criteria are less stringent.
