Wikipedia Assignment
[edit]The Louisiana Weekly
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Louisiana_Weekly This article relates to the class because The Louisiana Weekly writes articles about topics that are interesting to the black community. The newspaper discusses some of the controversial topics that are happening in New Orleans and around the world. Right now the article lacks details about the newspaper. I would add some more history about the newspaper to the article. I would also include some details about some of the more famous stories from the paper.
Stay Woke: The Black Lives Matter Movement
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stay_Woke:_The_Black_Lives_Matter_Movement Stay Woke: The Black Lives Movement was a documentary by Jessie Williams that covers the BLM movement and what being woke is. This relates to the class because we covered the BLM movement. The article currently does not have any details of the documentary. I would add some more information about the documentary. I would also include details of how the documentary came together.
Project South (organization)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_South_(organization) Project South is a non-profit organization founded in Atlanta, Georgia. The organization is a collaboration with the Black Lives Matter movement and helped develop the movement’s agenda. This relates to the class because we discussed the BLM movement in class. The article lacks information about the organization’s history and some of their other contributions. I would add more information to the article about the organization.
